J. Shelby-Wilson is Dean of Admissions (my complete email came from her as well) while Anne Richard is Associate Dean.avacado111 wrote:Doesn't matter. The email I had had a different director. I finally heard from GWU today after 2-3 weeks. I recieved two emails today; one saying they got my application and the second email saying my file is complete now. Its suprising to see GWU does not have online status checker.

Applied on 11/10, hadn't heard anything as of 11/23. I emailed them that day to make sure they had gotten everything, and got an email back that they had everything they needed. Got the official email that my app was complete on 11/24.

I'm thinking this also. I was going to call this week, let me know if you get an answer from the adcomms about it.umichgrad wrote:Thinking of changing my GW app to ED--anyone know how this works? i e-mailed but haven't heard anything yet. i know it's close to the deadline so i'm getting kind of anxious...

I applied ED to GULC but its not looking good. If I get rejected from GULC before the ED deadline is up for GW, do you think that I'm allowed to switch my app to ED?

Applied 11/09. Received and Complete emails came the day before Thanksgiving (11/25). More or less just tagging this thread so I know when people start getting decisions.

Just an FYI I posted in another thread:
When I called I was told two things of note:
PT class size is expected to be about 50 students this year
You wont always receive an application complete email. Its worth calling to confirm.

Called the admissions office today. In order to change to ED you email them at the jdadmit address and put your name and LSAC ID and request the change. That's it. I just did it, and I'm glad I did.
You definitely can, and I think many people (myself included) do. Be aware of two things, however:jk11287 wrote:I applied ED to GULC but its not looking good. If I get rejected from GULC before the ED deadline is up for GW, do you think that I'm allowed to switch my app to ED?
(1) the ED deadline is Dec. 15, the same day as the date you are guaranteed a response from Gtown ED. To me this means that they are very much aware of this tendency to switch, and none of us know if it is or is not frowned upon by the adcomms. For me, GW is my very clear top choice if Gtown doesn't work out, so ED makes sense. Don't do it if you're just super anxious and feel the need to ED somewhere.
(2) ED at GW comes with a full scholarship. This does not happen to very many people. It mostly happens to people with a 3.8 or higher and a 169 or higher. If you're way below those #s, it might make sense to ED somewhere else that you really want to go, or just put in a really excellent RD app at GW. If you're like me and you're sort of in the ballpark and jsut really really want to go there, then by all means, ED.
HTH!

Yeah, I'm a 169/3.2 (but I sent in an addendum cause my GPA at the university where I've been for three and a half years is 3.
...and I really only want to be in DC, so obviously GW is the next logical choice if GULC doesn't work out.

Just sent my email. Glad I did also. Now just have to wait till tomorrow for them to confirm that they will switch my application. Do you know if we can we fax in the agreement form or does it have to be via fax?umichgrad wrote:CyLaw wrote:I'm thinking this also. Blagh, I gotta wait from GULC before I change mine but I'm 98% sure I'm going to be rejected anyway. I hope they make it before the deadline.
Do I have a chance at ED with a 169/ 3.2?

A chance, yes, but it probably weak like mine (169 / 3.5).jk11287 wrote:Blagh, I gotta wait from GULC before I change mine but I'm 98% sure I'm going to be rejected anyway. I hope they make it before the deadline.

But even a small chance at a school with a good IP program, in DC, has jobs for my wife around, has a lot of my friends around, has alumni working for the organizations I want to work for, and coming out with no debt as my GI Bill should cover the living cost, man I don't know why I didn't do it before. I always said I would apply ED to GWU if they still had the scholarship, but then I let the USNWR warp my mind.
Good Luck

actually we dont have to send in the agreement form at all. the person i spoke to told me the email is the equivalent, since you 'sign' it electronically.CyLaw wrote:Just sent my email. If I am rejected for the ED, which is very possible, will GWU consider me for RD?

They absolutely will. GWU's ED comes with a full scholarship, so for people that don't get it they get moved to the RD pile. You really have nothing to lose by trying ED if you think you have a shot. Keep in mind their standards for ED will be higher than regular since it comes with that full scholarship.bettyhope wrote:If I am rejected for the ED, which is very possible, will GWU consider me for RD?

Just got my app complete email... only 6 weeks after I applied. That's gotta be a good sign. She at least thanked me for my patience.
