I have no idea. My point is that blowing $100k on an education where you didn't prepare for the single most important part of your application would be a tragedy. I'm not the best person for test prep advice. Took me a couple of tries to get my desired score.NYStateofMind1979 wrote:Do you think that I can possibly overcome the low LSAT and prep in time for December? I'm sure I'll get into the T4s in my area, but are there any Top 100s that I should consider?

You took the test cold. Study a bit and re-take. Your list of schools will look drastically different, as will your future.

3.75/158
I went into the GMAT cold and scored around the 90th percentile. Assumed I could do the same for the LSAT and it didn't work out so well. Probably going to retake in December. Hoping to get into Florida State or Florida.

If you really went into the LSAT totally cold, you should be very happy. A 158 is a very strong score for someone that hasn't studied the LSAT material. It indicates that you already have a grasp of the gist of the test.JMBrown32 wrote:3.75/158![]()

Study the material and re-take. You'll score much higher and you'll land at a school far, far more prestigious than either Florida State or Florida.
PS- the GMAT is a dull memorization test. Your cold 158 on the LSAT is far more impressive to me than your cold 90th % on the GMAT.

Well I was somewhat familiar with the test. I knew the general sections and knew the LR and RC sections were similar to some of the stuff on the GMAT. I tried a few games prior to taking the test, but had never done a PT, timed or otherwise. Not sure if that really counts as cold.ViP wrote:If you really went into the LSAT totally cold, you should be very happy. As it is, I've registered for the December test and acquired all the requisite study materials (as many official PTs as I could get my hands on and the PS Bibles), and am hoping for the best the second time around.

I probably don't qualify according to the constraints ITT, but I'm 3.9/165. Anybody that thinks there is a cap on the LSAT according to their own abilities are right. But, that cap doesn't have to stop in the 150's. Seriously, if I could improve on this exam, anybody can. I don't consider myself intelligent or anything and I know it was only through hard work that I got that score.
The LSAT is a monster, but it's worth taming considering that the score will affect where you go and ultimately, the rest of your life.
(diagnostic; 147. Took it a year later; 147. Studied 4 months; 165)

My low LSAT definitely didn't keep me from getting into the schools I wanted. Granted, I wasn't shooting for the stars. But I had a target school and hit it. You just have to be realistic.
I would say the only thing that the LSAT hurt me on was getting a scholarship.

This is me. At 160/3.72, I can't even apply to this thread.hypermeganet wrote:more of a shitty applicant.
That's 81st percentile in both cases, I believe. Let's hear it for the C-plusses/B-minuses of the world! Totally gonna take the legal profession by light drizzle and brisk winds!
+1 for Davis and Hastings. Colorado leads my non-CA hopes. I have lots of wasted app fees (e.g. Berkeley, Vandy, Emory). I feel pretty limber these days, what with all the stretching.
Good luck all.

Any news from reverse-splitters yet? Acceptances, rejections, waitlists?
The only schools that I've heard nothing from are Loyola (LA) and GW. The rest of my schools have at least sent an email. I sent my apps on Nov. 6th, btw.

I have not heard a peep from Case Western. Of the remaining 17 schools (yes, a very LARGE net), I am complete at 14. The remaining I have received an email but nothing more. I sent apps out the third week of October.ViP wrote:Any news from reverse-splitters yet? Acceptances, rejections, waitlists?

no decisions yet. the schools i've applied to are listed under my profile. i have status checkers for most schools and my file is "under review" right now at Samford and UGA. i was called by UA and encouraged to retake the LSAT -- i am, but will not be able to do so until Feb. so i have holds on UA, Emory, Duke, UVA and Vandy until then (prolonging my probable rejection

Thanks.

163/3.84. Cycle has gone well thus far. I was accepted at U Iowa and Ohio State, so I'm pretty happy. If I can pull off a Vandy, or a Georgetown, or even a Michigan or Berkeley, I will be sooo estatic.

Dude, absolutely no one says this, or at least believes this. Over half the students enrolled at Duke, Michigan and Berkeley have scores below 170. With a high GPA, you always had a shot (sealed with ED), and I doubt anyone who isn't an idiot thinks otherwise. You're in a Michigan. Enjoy it.bighead715 wrote:me too - 164/3.98snickersnicker wrote:Yup. In at Michigan yesterday, 166/3.99.ViP wrote:Any news from reverse-splitters yet? Acceptances, rejections, waitlists?Cycle's over.

Congrats, BTW.
p.s: The T14 is enough of an artificial construct, but we also have have HYS and the T6. The T10 now?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
