That is awesome.Macbethslady wrote:Got the call this morning...it lasted thirty seconds. "Do you still want to come?" Yes. "Are you sure? Because I know by now you've accepted somewhere else." Yes. "Okay...Welcome to Harvard."
So the first batch of calls is definitely not an interview batch.

I had a normal TS1 this morning - first conversation with Dean Stock. Seemed exceptionally brief (2-3 minutes tops), but no on-the-spot admission offer. Perhaps I blew it?

Chrisrc, don't worry. According to last year's LSN stats, there was a mix of instant admits and people admitted two days later (more in the latter group).

LL- If you want predictions or guesstimates of what you might be looking at, we need your stats. LSAT? GPA? URM status? Any notable soft factors?

What are your stats? At this point, I'm sure you're aware that you are either W/L or rejected. I couldn't really predict one way or the other without your #'s.Help. Went complete at HLS 2/28. Going CRAZY. no word at all.

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
Lady, while your LSAT is a bit low, Harvard does tend to favor people on their waitlist with low GPAs. To give an honest assessment, I would say there's a so-so chance you'll be WL, but not the best chance after. On a positive note, 2 people have made it off the WL (that we know of) with your #'s, and you have an interesting soft, so it's not impossible. Whatever happens, best of luck! You have some phenomenal options if Harvard doesn't come through.

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
UPDATE:
(from this thread)
172, 3.3 U ---> in
171, 4.0 ----> in
172, 3.9 ----> called, waiting
172, 3.9 ----> called, waiting
(from LSN)
171, 3.9 ----> in
The early round of calls seems to fit with past cycles. The 171-172 with a 3.9+ still appears to be the group to be in. I should note that 2 of the people on the list received a PCEM during the cycle, and were contacted again after the waitlist.
Note: I have updated the original post to reflect this data as well.

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
For those trying to figure out when/if they'll get a call:
The dates people were accepted off LSN last cycle:
5-01-07: 1
5-09-07: 3
5-11-07: 5
5-18-07: 2
6-04-07: 1
7-12-07: 1
Thoughts: Seems like there is an initial set (which have already gone out). Obviously these people were really close the first time around. Some of them even had a PCEM and TS1, but didn't seal the deal with a TS2. There seems to be another wave that follows shortly thereafter (my guess would be late this week or early next week). After that, I would expect that it's mostly just stragglers when they figure out what they might be missing from their class.
Note: This has also been added to the OP.

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
Hmmm...to make sure I hadn't been forgotten, I posted a comment on Toby's blog. It was a question about the blog itself (something random) and I mentioned I was a current applicant, but didn't come out and complain about being forgotten. He answered the comment with an email and mentioned I was still "in the mix." So...it's worth a try. It's a way to remind him you exist and get some communication without seeming like you're harassing Harvard. Just use your real email when you post on the blog.LadyLaw wrote:Help. Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
One thing that is confusing me:
When TS calls and asks you if you have deposited elsewhere at this point, he must realize that almost everyone on the waitlist has. So, why is he asking? Of course we have. When you say yes, could that possibly work against you?

I imagined it was just so TS could have the satisfaction of knowing what school he just grabbed a student from.biladiabla wrote:One thing that is confusing me:

Good luck ecu! I've got a feeling you'll get in.
I had my call this morning. Same deal as other people's second interviews. Said i wanted to come. Accepted immediately. This is the end of my cycle, and the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me.
