Given that I am neither contributing to or hurting GPA medians, are my reaches, targets and safeties purely LSAT driven?
Also, is not doing any optional essays fatal?
I think that's the general idea. No one knows for sure, but I've seen people say that:

Above Average = Median GPA

Superior = 75th+ GPA

Not fatal at all, but definitely helpful. I didn't do any except for schools that required it, and even then I kept it real short.
If that's what AA and S really mean, it is very good news.
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for! Still worried I have to compete with all the geniuses here. Seems like every internationally educated applicant and their mother got 170(+)
Haha. Yeah, looks like a very strong pool this year again. But hope this is all we've got.

What's up at Chicago Penn and UVA? May be they offer admission but without much scholly? No way to know whether they offer in the first place though.

So from last year's admissions spreadsheet, someone with a 170/Above Average got into HLS and someone else with a 172/Above Average got in as well, neither were URM.

If those are real, I'm getting my hopes up again :D

it looks like HLS does take a lot of internationals. Maybe thats how they keep their medians up. Lucky for us!

Stilllllllll waiting. I think, as it has been every year, that internationals are just as "random" as usual..

I got three acceptances within ten days of the respective apps. Silence on the others. Certainly random!

Congrats on YLS! You bring us hope. Have you gotten into HLS yet? Y matches H's need based schol I understand.

Nah, not yet, but I have my JS1 next week. H and S are the only two schools I'm just waiting on now. And I've heard that too, but I also heard Y and S are actually super generous and it's more likely I'm going to have to get H to match the other two, if anything.

No idea if Trump will screw you guys over too but here is a draft of an immigration order limiting foreign legal immigration.

It mentions something vague about limiting training for foreign students and making sure H1B visas are distributed to the best and brightest foreign workers.

Would be great if we start posting our outcomes school-wise. We could even compile it all later like the 2014-15 thread did.

I am a Jan applicant and have nothing so far.

Yeah I might get a spreadsheet up later or something, the 14-15 spreadsheet was incredibly helpful.

Fwiw, 171/AA, applied late Nov/Early Dec, dinged at Cornell and Penn, in at NU and GULC, still waiting on Duke/Berkeley/H/CCN

The Penn ding is not that surprising but Cornell is a bit of a shocker for 171/AA.

waiting on Duke? so you took that $150 interview? I love Duke but not enough to throw $150 away for it.

edit: oh wait, maybe you took TOEFL

I thought interviews weren't required for acceptance, just for scholarships.

For Duke if your UG wasn't in English and if you chose not to take TOEFL you can do an interview (not with duke, with something called initialview or something like that) so that they can determine your English proficiency

I posted this information in the general TLS applicants thread, but I think that it also bears repeating here! Just in case it might apply to you or to someone you know!

University of Toronto has stated that they will accepting late applications from anyone who is affected (directly or indirectly) by the travel ban in the US. They are also accepting late applications from Canadians who are re-thinking attending law school in the States.

And while this is even more unlikely to apply to anyone on this thread, they are also accepting transfer applications from Canadians who are currently studying in the US. The deadline for application is normally November 1st.

Checking in as well and I have a pretty similar profile, 172/AA, but I applied mid-Jan. Got dinged at Cornell today, but I'm in at Vanderbilt. Waiting to hear back from other schools!
