Thank you!kr2 wrote:Yay! Welcome to the discussion!jean100 wrote:Checking in! Long time lurker but finally made an account because you guys have been such a great source of support. WL-ed last week and planning on riding it out with all of you.
Did you get an email back confirming they received your LOCI?Manly wrote:Checking in. Riding the WL until the end. Already sent my LOCI in. Stay strong, comrades.

Anyone have any insight as to whether or not it matters if you have or haven't interviewed? I know someone posted about this, but it wasn't clear.
I've talked to like 5 people who are currently at HLS who got in off the WL - some had interviewed before hearing about the WL, others after. One guy said he thought it was better to NOT have had an interview because if you had had one, they weren't too convinced.
Any thoughts?

So essentially its ideal to interview in the next few months. But at this point, nobody has had a post WL JS1, so we can't really make any deductions for us...CerealMilk wrote:To summarize all of the info I've seen in terms of chances:scubasteve12 wrote:Long time lurker checking in as well!

1. Pre-waitlist JS1 > no pre-waitlist JS1
2. Post-waitlist JS1 > pre-waitlist JS1
Also some pre-waitlist JS1s seemed to hear first (though some also heard in August so it doesn't necessarily mean anything)

Appreciate any advice I could get.
I read somewhere that you don't want to do this at all. They know your stats and know where you're likely to get in. You're obviously a very competitive candidate since they put you on the waitlist. I would however mention that you'd choose them over any current or forseeable offers and that they are your top choice.pi.radians wrote:I would be very careful how you word this. If you tell them you got into Stanford, they might say "so go there".HugsNotDrugs wrote:Does anyone have a read on whether getting accepted to Stanford would be an LOCI-worthy update? Binding? Not technically. But if you aren't 100% certain (after May 1) that you'd jump ship given the chance, there's no reason to ride the list.slizerd wrote:If you get an offer off the wait list is it binding? The email was worded very very strongly about only accepting a spot if you're 100% ok with taking it on the spot
Agree that I don't think it's binding, but it seemed clear that they would ask you to make a decision before seeing your financial aid package. So that's just something to consider as well.slizerd wrote:If you get an offer off the wait list is it binding? Comments like these make me happy I spend so much time lurking on TLS, even though the vast majority of comments just make me more anxious and paranoid.kr2 wrote:Found this article in last year's thread, which mentions Michelle Obama getting admitted to HLS off the waitlist. Congratulations, team. We're in good company.
