I just got mine!
Ah really?? Haha wow what timing!! I hope I get mine soon as well!! Good luck!
Good afternoon from Georgetown. I'm writing to you today to give you an update on the Georgetown waiting list. As you know, you are on our preferred waiting list, which we typically look to first if spaces open up in the entering class.

As of today our deposits are quite strong, and we are not planning to make many offers prior to our May 1st deposit deadline. However, these things have a way of changing so it is always possible we will have room in the next few weeks.

If we do extend offers of admission, the Committee will be particularly interested in applicants who truly want to be at Georgetown. Please continue to keep in touch with us with your level of interest and any changes in your application through admis@law.georgetown.edu.

If you don't hear from us earlier, the key date for us (and you) is May 2nd when our first deposits are due. With the usual extension requests, we will know for sure whether we have any Round One openings by Monday, May 9th at the latest. We will be back in touch then, if not before.

We look forward to hearing back from you and we thank you again for your continued interest in Georgetown and for your patience with our process.
Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder if they're sending out the waitlist feeler emails to those on the preferred waitlist first. I suppose that makes sense.
Yep got the same exact email just now, also on preferred.
Same. Good job you told me about this Anonnonnon five minutes before I got the email, otherwise I might have gotten false hope when I saw it come in.

Haha no problem - I guess I had an interesting feeling about today. But I just hope the email comes for those on the regular waitlist too...

got a slightly different email from the preferred one:

Good morning from Georgetown. I'm writing to you today to give you an update on the Georgetown waiting list. As you know, you are in a special select group that we will be going to first if spaces open up in the entering class.

Although as of today our deposits are quite strong, it is always possible that we may extend a few spaces in the class prior to our May 2nd deposit deadline. At this stage, the Committee is particularly interested in applicants who truly want to be at Georgetown. We understand that circumstances may change over time. While we are not asking you to commit officially, it would be extremely helpful to know what you are thinking at this point and the likelihood of enrolling if admitted.

Please respond to Alison Spada, Director of J.D. Admissions, at lawwaitlist@law.georgetown.edu as soon as possible to let us know your level of interest. On our end, we will try to keep you as up to date as possible on the waitlist situation, either before May 2nd or by May 9th.

We look forward to hearing back from you and we thank you again for your continued interest in Georgetown and for your patience with our process.

It's not as positive as the preferred ones obviously haha:

Ah okay - it's cool to see all 3 different types of emails. I'm just wondering why I haven't received mine yet...

EDIT: Nevermind - got the email! Thank god. Now the real waiting begins...

I received the preferred waitlist email as well. I find it interesting that the contact for the special select group is different than that of the preferred and regular waitlist. I probably shouldn't try to read anything into that though.

Good luck to all my fellow wait-listers!!!

Depending on how detailed your "Main" LOCI was, I think just responding clearly outlining your level of interest should be enough - 2 to 3 sentences may be enough.

Also, this includes letting them know about any circumstances that will pull you one way vs the other if Georgetown were to extend you an acceptance in the future.

Just got an email update which says admissions to people on waitlist will be extended soon.

"Good morning from Georgetown.

Please respond to XXX, at XXX as soon as possible to let us know your level of interest. On our end, we will try to keep you as up to date as possible on the waitlist situation, either before May 2nd or by May 9th.

We look forward to hearing back from you and we thank you again for your continued interest in Georgetown and for your patience with our process."

No problem! I also do think it would be prudent to respond to Georgetown's waitlist feeler email at the very least (I have this confirmed as a "good idea" from admissions) so, make sure you respond!

Wait, are "we" saying that this was the feeler email and should respond to it or that there is another email coming within roughly the next couple weeks that is the "feeler email".
