How's everyone feeling about UCI so far? Is anyone else as anxious as me to see their upcoming LST score???

I am referencing LST score, do not know actual rankings announcementdony_tanza wrote:Yeah, basically just waiting for this year's ranking. Hello everyone! I am a 3L at an East Coast T10 who is a HUGE fan of UCI (I will be working in Orange County). I know numerous graduates and everyone that I know has had an incredible experience. In addition, I find that the 1L course load is very practical/progressive and, thus, you will get a better education. In terms of job prospects, while UCI still has some room to improve in LA, it kicks ass throughout Orange County. Also, it's incredible how successful Dean Chemerinsky has been at getting so many district and circuit clerks.
TL;DR UCI is on the up and up and I suspect that most of you who end up attending will be happy with your experience!

Maybe a current student can weigh in, but my feeling is that it does affect negotiation because you are basically singing off that you accept this package, which may be why they do it so early. It's possible there is still some leverage afterwards if you have other offers you would seriously take unless you got more money, and your scores are great. But I would negotiate before "formally accepting your scholarship" as they call it in the email.mori2015 wrote:ppt5 wrote:Does reserving your scholarship affect negotiations?

i want to. I was debating waiting until after March assuming some people didn't reserve their scholarships, but now I'm thinking sooner might be better.dony_tanza wrote:Right now no, but if I get a better offer soon then yeah.ppt5 wrote:Thanks! If you know UCI is the place for you, and you have other offers to leverage, then definitely do it sooner than later.ppt5 wrote:i want to. In yesterday! For those of you who also got the emails, did it say your letter would include your scholarship allocation? Really hoping this means I got some $

Any scholarship negotiation happening yet?
When would be the best time (now or Feb)? I already have offers from Chapman, Pepperdine, Loyola, and USD to send copies of their letters to UCI. Has anyone called the office for logistics?

Re: UC Irvine Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I am very curious about the negotiation. I was offered 75k over 3 years with a GPA stipulation of 3.2 (i believe). My stats are both above median with LSAT above the 75th (167/3.65) with strong softs/we/graduate degree in stem.
I would like to ask for more, but I dont have much to negotiate with yet other than an equivalent offer from BU with no GPA requirement and my acceptance into UCLA. Should I wait to hear back from USC/UCLA and possible $$ along with other schools in the T-14?
BU wont renegotiate my scholarship until march they say.

Going off the negotiation thread- does anyone know if they tend to up their offers much? From what I saw on last year's thread they don't seem to budge much, but I was hoping to get other opinions.

When I emailed them to negotiate a few weeks ago they didn't flat out say "no," but they said it wouldn't be until the end of February and did not sound optimistic. I'm not banking on getting another dollar from them, which will probably be the reason I don't attendppt5 wrote:Going off the negotiation thread- does anyone know if they tend to up their offers much? I got a similar result from BU. May be possible to negotiate with competing offers in late February. Good luck to everyone. At the offer I got from UCI I wouldn't attend as well.

Do they have an application status checker?
