Everything on my status checker went blank and at the bottom of the page it says "Submit Offical Final Transcript" so hopefully that is a good sign?

Evidently that's usually what happens when you're in from what I was reading.

Looks like you are probably in a good position then! Mine did that, and then everything was completed in the box around 1pm the following day.tezzeret wrote:Got this today.bnssweeney wrote:Everything on my status checker went blank and at the bottom of the page it says "Submit Offical Final Transcript" so hopefully that is a good sign?

Anyone try negotiating a scholarship without having any other offers from other law schools yet?
I was accepted to the 2-year program and the deposit is due on March 21...

negotiating without leverage seems like rough stuff.bubbles111 wrote:Anyone try negotiating a scholarship without having any other offers from other law schools yet?![]()

Re: Brooklyn Law c/o 2019 - BLS DROP (HUGE) IN US N RANKINGS
well if I wasn't concerned before, that article definitely didn't inspire newfound confidence in BLS. It is one of my top choices but I really want to know how smart of a choice the school is after the dust settles. For arguments sake if it falls into t3 territory next year wouldn't that catastrophic results? Or at the very least be incredibly disheartening. However more importantly, what were the direct causes for such a huge dip? Rumor is it is because of the high amount of non-jd required jobs their graduates got but I would still like something more concrete.etfc737 wrote:Guys, what do you think about this?

From the leaked 2017 US N rankings, BLS has dropped to #97. That's a drop of -19 spots!
This is scary - and not purely because of the ranking - and it may be indicative of where the leadership of the school will take it going forward.
I have already submitted the first seat deposit, but now I'm reconsidering.
They offered ~ $23K; however, I have a comparable offer (accounting for the stipulation difference) from St. John's -- I'm now on the fence btwn SJU and BLS.
How do you guys (ppl who are admitted and are planning to attend BLS) feel about all of this?
BLS is where I want to go, but it seems like the administration is performing sub par in comparison to the other law schools that are on their lvl (Cardozo, SJU, (even SUNY Buffalo now?) etc)

This is very concerning. I thought it wasn't going to drop much at all considering the news with NLJ rank of go-to-law schools.
Does US News use faculty survey answers as part of the consideration? Cause maybe thats why they dropped since they had their salary cut.

I mean, even with the NLJ rank, only about 9-10% BLS students can get into a top 100 firm.Buddha180 wrote:This is very concerning. I thought it wasn't going to drop much at all considering the news with NLJ rank of go-to-law schools.

My guess is that the rankings were tweaked based on starting salary after school and/or percentage employed in a job requiring a JD. Not a lot of BLS students are trying for biglaw anymore.

What is the current consensus on SJU vs BLS vs dozo?

SJU seems better at this point. I want to do litigation, I have a job at a PI firm I interned at lined up for me post grad. Brooklyn seems great for Litigation, I've even hear they recently beat Fordham in a Moot court comp. St. Johns is great too but I think Brooklyn is better in terms of opportunities to practice litigation.tezzeret wrote:What is the current consensus on SJU vs BLS vs dozo?

Really enjoyed ASD yesterday and I know my friends loved it as well. Thought the staff and students were really great. Also asked the dean of admissions and some alumni about the USNWR ranking drop and they all seem totally unphased. I'm strongly considering attending this fall.

Same here. A little too much PI interest for me but I can't blame them at all. They're right by the courts. Just trying to see if I can get more $$ given I have some offers from other schools. But this is still my top.UDtoLawSchool wrote:Really enjoyed ASD yesterday and I know my friends loved it as well. Thought the staff and students were really great. Just received a second bump from 35K/year to 40K/year. I'll be putting down a seat deposit this week!
