Packet came in the mail today with a full ride scholarship offer! Minnesota is my second choice, so I'm absolutely ecstatic.

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!

How long is forever? When I got the call last Monday, they said it should be about a week, but I'm worried the holidays will stretch it out...

Full scholly offer in my mailbox today!
Someone fill me in on winter in Minnesota. I'm from the South and think 40 degrees is pretty damn cold.

I was accepted the 9th, and just got my packet in the mail this week too. Mail was probably running slow due to all the Christmas shipping.

Judging from LSN, it appears Minnesota is trying to hit their URM quota as fast as possible lol Several low-mid 150's getting accepted recently

It is pretty brutal if you think 40 is cold. I've been in February and December. The December time there was a blizzard and average temps of 20 degrees. February average was around 10-20 but not as much snow when i was there. It is doable though if you buy appropriate clothing and Minneapolis is really cool.

Minnesota students! As the weather turns icy/impassable in my neck of the woods, I've been wondering about the commute in Minneapolis. Do most people live within walking distance of the school and just bundle up? Bike? Take public transit? Or do most law students have cars and drive in?

Roommate decided to not tell me he picked up a big envelope from U Minn for me, so I just found my $75k (~48%) scholarship

The answer is all of the above. A good many students live in apartment buildings such as 7West and Seven Corners and can practically fall out of bed and into Mondale Hall. Others live in the more Undergraduate focused Dinkytown less than a mile away and a some (Mostly 2L's and 3L's or those with non-trad backgrounds) live further away and drive. I personally lived my 1L year 3 miles from Campus and rode my bike all year round and had a friend who lived about 4 miles away in uptown do the same thing, though now I live further away and drive in. It all depends on what's important to you.

Rode your bike all year round? Doesn't it snow like feet at a time there?

Yeah it does, but the bike route network actually has its own plows (little gators and 4 wheelers) which keep it pretty clear. So most of the year I could ride my road bike, but when it got miserable I was still fine on my Mountain bike. Though I did swap out my bike helmet for my snowboarding helmet and goggles when it got really cold.
