As a result, I've started mapping out what my 2L and 3L years might look like. I'd like to do as many clinics/externships as I can fit into my schedule, with the idea that actual application/law practice will be more helpful and interesting than random classes. Is this realistic? I assume I can only fit 1 such experience per semester. Also, I've started thinking seriously about immigration law - does anybody have any experience with that clinic specifically that would care to share their thoughts?
And if anybody can press the fast-forward button at admissions, that would be great too. I basically spend every day just trying to stay distracted so I'm not refreshing the status checker constantly. Lol.
Thanks!
+1 to alums reading! The clinics and externships are some of the things that specifically drew me to BU.
Just wish I didn't have to wait another month for my decision. But I guess it's been two months, so I can hang on for one more!

You can take clinics/externships as much as you like, but you are limited to 16 non-graded credits that go towards graduation. As a result, it isn't really feasible to do multiple externships/clinics. Most people I know do only one, but you might be able to fit in two. It just depends on the number of credits the clinic is-- I think most are around 10-12.

I applied back in September, maybe a week or two after the application went live. I don't think it had much to do with it, though. They probably wait to look seriously at ED until after the November application deadline. The assistant dean of admissions said they award 10 ED scholarships, so it would make sense to wait to make decisions until they were all in.

In any case it looks like it'll be a quick turnaround, guaranteed by December 21st, but from what others are saying it sounds like it may be even faster.
Where did you hear about the faster turnaround? Would love that! Last year's thread seemed like most people heard back the last day.
Just from checking lsn. It looks like most people who applied early got a decision well before December 21st, most of them seem to have gotten a decision in late November to early December.
It'd be nice but by no means count on it. You'll know when you know haha, but acceptances *can* roll out pretty quick.
Oh, cool! Thanks for the info.

Good luck, I have fingers crossed for all of us EDers!
Good luck to you too! Just got dinged recently by BC, so... I feel that may be a harbinger of bad news from BU, but at any rate, we'll find out within three weeks. It's a reach to begin with so eh. :/

I doubt it could be a bad one! Probably just trying to see the most complete picture of you they can? I would accept!

I think they prioritize ED, but last year's thread shows someone RD was accepted 12/1, so there could have been some calls already. But comparing to last year's timeline isn't always very helpful either.

Mine has stayed "Complete" for 1.5 months now. I don't think it'll change.

Probably throwing in the towel for ED, if they've already moved to RD.

I wish they would tell us sooner that we were rolled over!
I don't think it's the time for that. Most ED decisions went out in December last year. I think the people who have heard back were mostly applying both ED and Public Interest. At least mrdanoesq that was the case. Don't give up yet! We still have until Dec 21!
Last year, RD and ED decisions were going out simultaneously, don't think they've moved on from ED yet.
