Yeah, thanks so much, Elle!GnosisExchange wrote:Thanks so much for this! I was just gonna look it up, but decided to check here first just in case.texasellewoods wrote:So I looked on the C/O 2018 applicant thread to find more information on PTs -
For the C/O 2017, first PT invites came out Aug 21
For 2018, first PT invites came out Aug 28
The first admit under PT was on Sept 5
September LSAT scores were released around Oct 20
October PT invites came out on Oct 27
It seems like the stats needed for PT are a bit unpredictable, but it looks like most have either both LSAT and GPA over median, or one over a 75th and one hovering slightly below median. Can't tell if they favor LSAT or GPA more in the algorithm (if they use one at all).
CRS preferences seem to have an influence as well. Someone with v good stats didn't receive a PT invite, then said they changed their CRS preferences to reflect Duke (I assume by saying they liked NC) and received an invite very shortly after.
Based on the Duke Admission results spreadsheet for last years cycle (found at the top of the LS Accept/WL/Denial thread) it looks like about 80% of TLSers than get PT are admitted and 11% wait listed. no data on denials.
Hope this helps!!

UPDATED INFO ON PTS -
c/o 2015:
received PT on august 18
c/o 2016:
received PT on august 23
c/o 2017:
received PT on august 21
c/o 2018:
first applicant in thread sent in apps on august 28
first reveieved PT on august 29 ** old version says 28, my bad!!
The first admit under PT was on Sept 5
September LSAT scores were released around Oct 20
October PT invites came out on Oct 27
**mpellenberger, last year it looks like PT invites went out one day after the app release date (assuming that first person submitted on day 1 - hard to tell so if anyone has hard data on last years app release let me know!!)
it is certainly possible we will see PT invites coming out on the 19th!! especially since c/o 2015 received on the 18th
everyone start stressing!

I think at the very least you want to do one of their optional essays.urbanist11 wrote:Id probably write one since it's not that much effort and I'm a proponent of giving schools every reason to admit youSeamus887 wrote:I wasn't going to write one for Duke because it seems they don't YP as much. Gotta start getting used to the elitism in law somewhere, right?urbanist11 wrote:New poll is up! Basing this off the much maligned us news rankings

Just wondering - do people who get invited to PT also get fee waivers?

on an unrelated note, T14 or don't go.
Try to get a generous scholarship too, because big law is not as fun as it sounds, and debt, although seemingly innocuous to some 0Ls, is less fun. Thus, lower T14 with good money is generally considered > CCN without money.

The Bon Appetit Cafe in Fuqua's Cafeteria looks like straight fire. I would cop a meal plan just to eat a couple meals a week/day (love to eat/gotta stay hard-bodied).

If you miss the first wave of PT invites do you have to wait till late October for the next wave or do they continue to trickle out? I haven't submitted my transcripts yet

sweet, thanks for callingwhacka wrote:I just called them earlier this morning and they said they release them in waves once a month. Also they use your self-reported GPA if you don't have a transcript on file (but those have a range of .25 so they are probably not that helpful to getting you an invite)earthabides wrote:If you miss the first wave of PT invites do you have to wait till late October for the next wave or do they continue to trickle out?
