FYI, Loyola offers $300 travel stipends to students traveling farther than 50 miles. It can apply to scheduled events or individual visits. Just thought I'd let ya'll know since they made me jump through hoops to find out this info.

Got an unsolicited scholarship increase but I already sent in my withdrawal. More money back in the pot!

The status checker says that my application is complete, but the "no future lsat scores" box is not checked. I didn't take the February LSAT, so it should be. I've been complete since 2/3. Should I call them about this, or do you think I'm okay?

I would just call them. It's pretty late in the cycle so no use taking any chances!newcomer5 wrote:The status checker says that my application is complete, but the "no future lsat scores" box is not checked. Is the scholly increase going to tip over any of you? How are you guys going to decide on this school? Even with all the research I am doing it is so hard to make up my mind. I am still waiting on a lot of decisions but I am expecting rejections from most..Drowninmyowntears wrote:+1!!whitespider wrote:Just got selected as an Alumni Scholar with a 129k scholly and an alumni mentor!

I'm definitely going to make a visit because of this offer...and it made me research the school a bit more which made me find things I might actually really enjoy there! Although this definitely isn't a first choice and I'm only considering it while I wait to hear back from other places.idontknow1 wrote:Is the scholly increase going to tip over any of you? I was reading the 2016 USNWR thread and it looks like Loyola jumped 12 spots, now ranked 75.

Preview day on April 24th. Have to accept scholly offer by the 15th. Cool. Guess I'll have to go to one of the student host events.

Loyola told me the same info. $300 isn't enough to cover my travel costs (I'm on the East Coast). Should I reply back asking for a larger stipend, or do you guys think I can ask other LA schools to cover the rest of my ticket? If I'm going out for one weekend, I'd want to hit several schools while there.Drowninmyowntears wrote:FYI, Loyola offers $300 travel stipends to students traveling farther than 50 miles. It doesn't hurt to try to ask for more. The worst that can happen is they say no. Did you get in to UCI? They offer $500. I think that's pretty rare though. Most places offer around 100-300ish. Some don't offer any stipend at all! Maybe you can get one school to cover airfare and another to cover hotels or something. Good luck!!bisa wrote:Loyola told me the same info. $300 isn't enough to cover my travel costs (I'm on the East Coast). Congrats to those of you who have been accepted! I'm a current 2L and happy to answer any questions you may have about Loyola, my experience, or anything else you can think of. I'll try to remember to check in with this thread, but it's easier if you ask in:

I applied end of January too and was accepted two weeks ago, but I'll be withdrawing and sending money back into the pot. Best of luck to you both!violettie wrote:Same here. Anyone hear anything about the full-tuition Deans Scholarship yet? I asked to be considered, but was wondering if they've already starting awarding them. That little extra would definitely make a difference for me with the deadline quickly approaching.

I called the school yesterday but couldn't get anyone on the phone. I liked Loyola when I visited last year, but I'm a URM and above the 75th percentile for both GPA and LSAT. I kind of expected to hear something awhile ago.

lol okay, I wasn't sure if it was more targeted or everyone is getting the emails... my coworkers and I were laughing a little because I'm not Latino.
