I feel like everyone will start hearing back after new years because their early decision date is 12/23, than that goes into Christmas, the weekend, and New Years.

I agree, however, I think their Early Decision Date is 12/19.

no worries! I suppose there's a potential we find out a couple days before New Years but we will see.

Accepted on the 20th, applied early November RD. Pretty excited, but still waiting to hear back from a few more schools.

For law students, there are apartments across the street from Drinko Hall. That's going to be the closest by far, and it's not a troublesome spot. If I didn't live in the area, that would be my choice for housing.

The area directly north of campus is great if you're ok with student-y apartments. You'll get some drunk people and parties especially Friday and Saturday but crime is not too bad. Stay away from anything directly on Lane Avenue; they're all overpriced, cramped and shitty apartments. Go back a few blocks and your options will be much better. I can personally vouch for the apartments on West Northwood, PM me if you want details. The only downside is you'll be about thirty minutes of walking away from the law building.

South of campus is pretty much the same but better; less noise and crime, closer to the law school and more expensive. Go too far south and you end up in the Victorian Village and short north which are way overpriced. You might be lucky and get a steal in the Victorian village but it's been a few years and I don't know what the market looks like.

Avoid anything east of high street. There are some blocks that aren't too bad but most of it is sketch as fuck; everyone I know who lives over there has had their car broken into at least once, and I know some people who had meth cooks for neighbors.

I've spent two summers in Columbus and know a bunch of people who go to OSU, so the above is a mix of first hand experience and received wisdom. As always, listen to the locals.

Congrats everyone! For those of you accepted EA, how long was it between going "complete" on the status checker and when you received a decision? I'm assuming I'll be waiting a few weeks longer but just want as much information as possible since the waiting is hard.

I went "under review" on 11/19

Anyone discouraged by the 59% employment rate according to law school transpency?

I like Ohio state law so far but, i've been leaning towards Univ. Of Iowa because the employment prospects look a lot better.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
