Exactly what I thought when I saw that. The sheer joy at the thought of a hint that I could be admitted has been eclipsed by the embarrassment of apparently missing a big part of the status page for over a month.arroznueve wrote:I did the same thing about a month ago when I first noticed it. "Well, they wouldn't add a scholarship line if I were rejected, right?"Avlyre wrote:So I just (obsessively) rechecked the status checker, and I can't remember if it always had "Admission Fee, Tuition Fee, Scholarship Amount, etc" in the Fees box. Swear it wasn't there. Is that new? A good sign? Or am I just losing my memory at 21?
Though I will say that if there's one thing I've really learned on this forum, the amount of checking and obsessing about status checkers is such a blessing to people in admissions. Can you imagine their job in the pre-online, self-service days? People must have been calling them on the phone twice a day, "so, anything change since this afternoon?"

2L will take questions, unless Dean Shively gets to them first.

Re: Wake Forest C/O 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
1Ls seem to gravitate toward the Crown properties. Personally, I found them overpriced and the gating unnecessary. My view is that it's worth a bit of effort on the front end to find a place that you will be happy with for three years, given location, price, and amenities. The housing market here is highly saturated, so many people wait until July/ August to really start the search or list a property. It provides a lot of options, but if you are looking to lock down housing in say March or April, it can make it more difficult.
Generally, check here. Often landlords posting here are used to renting to law school students. I found my place through the school listings, and she was willing to take $100/mnth below market value ($50 less than her listing) to secure a reliable tenant that likely wasn't going to trash her place.
Specifically, I recommend looking in the Aspen Park area: 2/2's for 750ish/mnth, and 7-9 minute, door-to-door walk to Worrell. They are condos, so you have to find one on your own (no office to lease to you); the upkeep and maintenance vary considerably based on landlord; and you should probably negotiate, at least a little. There are several for rent currently. I looked at numerous units when I was in the market. Avoid the ones run by property management companies if possible - they could care less about the tenant or the property, and find someone that owns and rents their unit. Or, if you have access to the capital, you could buy one. Everyone I know that lives here likes them. The only real downside is the area is a bit wooded, so there is less sunlight and more insects in the summer. Personally, I find the non-apartment aesthetic appealing.
I have friends that live at The Corners and like it, in part because they are pet friendly.

I live at Crowne Polo and I like it. Some say it's overpriced, but it was a steal from what I was paying before I came here. I can't speak for the other Crowne properties, but Crowne Polo is extremely pet friendly (I think almost everyone in my building has a dog) and just a generally nice atmosphere. It's about 50% Wake students and 50% families. Most Wake students that live here are grad/law students.
The only bad thing about Crowne Polo is that there is no left hand turn into the complex. It sounds so petty, but it generally blows when you are coming back from the grocery store and have to make a u-turn.

How long did it take after submitting for everyone to receive an email with the application status checker information? I've submitted and have yet to receive anything other than the LSAC confirmation.

I've been under review since 11/7 and haven't heard anything. This Friday will be the 6 week mark for me so I'll email them then if I haven't heard anything yet.
I've been at "application complete, ready for review" since 10/24 ... which kind of concerns me.

Maybe it's something to do with the holidays? Maybe they're just going through things really slowly, and we'll all get acceptances on Christmas. ^^ Diva857, I'm pretty sure they have some way of sorting out which applications go under review first, so maybe your app just got sorted to the end for some reason?diva857 wrote:jwoods wrote:louisv123 wrote:Mine took about 24 hours.bluehose wrote:How long did it take after submitting for everyone to receive an email with the application status checker information? That makes sense. I'm hoping you're right! I was really hopeful for a faster turnaround due to an earlier submission. But I'm willing to be patient

Checking In
Applied 9/17, In Review since 11/7.
I'm thinking they are going to send a blast of decisions at one time.
Hopefully soon!
