yes it does look that way, I was just hoping it might come sooner because acceptances came out earlier this year.
Is anyone anticipating this years USNews rankings? I'm hoping GA State goes back up the list! Their fall last year was a little bit of a bummer..

I happened to log in to my status checker today and saw under the mailings that the scholarship award letter was sent on Monday....nothing in the mail yet though and I live in the ATL area...fingers crossed its a pretty number arriving tomorrow! Has anyone else got their info in the mail or had their status checker updated?

My status checker has also changed. Haven't received anything in the mail though. Best of luck to both of us!

Yeah... I wasn't considering GSU before this but it's 5,000 for the first year plus a Graduate Research Assistantship position with a stipend of 2,000 plus if I have a 3.0 GPA, full tuition for year 2 and 3.

Congrats! I received the same scholarship but for 8k the first year. I was surprised because my numbers aren't as stellar as some. Either way, it'll be tough to turn down.

Awesome! I was completely surprised as well both my numbers are right at the median. Hopefully they're not offering this scholarship to too many people, it might dilute the the prestige of the GRA position. I checked the website and it says you have to have 32 hours of law courses before being a legal research assistant , but the scholarship implies that we'll be working as 1Ls, what do you think we'll be doing?

My LSAT is at 25% and my GPA is slightly above 75% and I'm just wondering what my chances of any kind of scholarship might be... I'm hoping once people commit to other places those scholarships will be recycled and possibly given to someone like me. At the open house they told everyone that the top 30% of students are usually the ones that end up receiving scholarships.

Wondering the same thing. Haven't heard anything about $$$ yet. I'm >75th LSAT and between 25th and Median GPA.

No, I'm pretty sure we dont have to do anything as GRA's until 2L. To my understanding, GSU wants you to focus on studying 1L and then begin working 10-20 hours a week for the GRA in your 2L and 3L years.

Anyone putting down a seat deposit yet? I'm getting a little impatient but I'm waiting until the last week in March probably like most people who haven't heard about scholarship yet.
By the way... US News just posted that the new rankings come out March 10th if anyone was curious.

I was waiting to find out about the ALS scholarship but I just called and was told decisions won't be made until April sometime so that makes thinks a little more difficult....

I wonder if that scholarship has something to do with people who apply for the FAFSA. The description says its for students who demonstrate "need" so they probably wait and see who applies for loans. That would be my guess on that one.
I want to wait until the end to give myself the best chance of getting scholarship, but at the same time its really hard because I already signed a lease on an apartment so I'm ready to lock it in!

ALS is based on merit and need so if you qualify based on merit, they send the application with your acceptance and then it goes through a whole different commitee review process. I'm really leaning toward GSU but that's like the one thing that would seal the deal.

I don't know anyone personally who has been waitlisted but you should checkout LSN if you haven't already.

Does anyone have an opinion on letting admissions know you got a scholarship somewhere else? Is this super tacky? I don't know if its something everyone does or if it would be weird.

Has anyone tried to negotiate their scholarships? I got 8k for the first two years and a GRA position, full tuition, and a stipend for the last year. I'm really excited, but the stipulation is I have to keep a 3.0 to maintain the scholarship. I would really like to take that down to a 2.7 or something lower. Any ideas of how to do this? Has anyone else tried?

Ive never heard of negotiating the requirements so I'm not sure about that but it wouldnt hurt to ask I guess. Would you mind PMing me your stats? I'm wondering if I even have a chance at a scholarship right now.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
