When did everyone submit their apps? I applied the day the application window opened and I'm not even under review yet. Not happy. Not happy at all.

Have yet to be called with a 166/3.86 and I'm supposed to be automatically admitted through FSU's Honors Legal Scholars program. Asst dean was talking about giving me a full ride in an interview last month. Curious to see how long this takesShelbinole wrote:what are your scores if you don't mind me asking? It's not that I wasn't accepted yet, I'm not even under review. Submitted my app September 15th and people who have submitted apps just a few days ago are already reviewed and accepted.

Most schools this cycle seem to be skimming off the top to a certain degree. I've seen one of the admits on LSN and their numbers are WAY above medians for FSU. I wish schools would go based on the order which applications are received (and I think they try to a certain degree), but that isn't always the case.MikeM-law wrote:157/3.66Shelbinole wrote:what are your scores if you don't mind me asking? That's makes sense except for the fact that people with lower numbers than mine have already been admitted.LawGirlAtx wrote:Most schools this cycle seem to be skimming off the top to a certain degree. Yeah, then I'd definitely call to make sure your application is in order. Sometimes people have excellent soft factors that may push them over the edge, but I imagine that's the exception not the rule.

Meh, as a semi-Tallahassee native (lived there from 8 to 19) and born and bred FSU fan, you may not want to mention his misconduct allegations, Crabgate, or that "display" in the student union to anyone in Tallahassee. Don't underestimate the fanaticism of FSU fans.HavingFun wrote:In other FSU news, Jameis Winston now accused of point shaving!

What's the worst that could happen? Getting suspended and missing a few baseball games again?LawGirlAtx wrote:Meh, as a semi-Tallahassee native (lived there from 8 to 19) and born and bred FSU fan, you may not want to mention his misconduct allegations, Crabgate, or that "display" in the student union to anyone in Tallahassee. If anything, karma will catch up to him and he'll be the next Jet's "star" quarterback

As an aspiring attorney and someone that works criminal cases for a living, I know those details of his misconduct are questionable at best. TPD is a shit storm, but there's a reason he hasn't been charged and it's less to do with him being a star athlete and more to do with bad witness reports and lack of anything to suggest lack of consent.HavingFun wrote:What's the worst that could happen? Don't be silly, he's going to the Bucs.

If you're opinion of the school is based on the perception of their star athletes I can tell you FSU probably isn't your best choice. When I say FSU fans are fanatical, I mean it. I don't say that to be harsh, I say that so you understand the culture of the school. There's a reason FSU is tagged as a party school and athletics, football especially tie in with that culture.

Ah shit you're right my overplayed joke about FSU's QB stealing crab legs is truly representational of my opinions of FSU and its student body, you got me. I also never would have guessed that southern football fans were fanatical.

Can't be sure about the cherry-picking. Super-splitter/admit here.LawGirlAtx wrote:Most schools this cycle seem to be skimming off the top to a certain degree. No email for this guy. The voicemail related that my admissions package was in the mail. I assumed that info would be included.mpk11d wrote:Received the call, I'm assuming everyone else got the email about the acholarshop process in this first batch of acceptances?

The voicemail/email was an application for merit scholarships to show how serious the candidate is in the school so they could appropriately distribute funds. Figured it was routine with each acceptance this early on
