If you're really set on BU, go for it, it can't hurt. Usually the advice is to shy away from ED because of the loss of bargaining power over financial aid, but since that's not in the equation for BU, it can't hurt. The worst that'll happen is you get pushed back into the RD pool.calawgrl wrote:Hey guys, checking innn, I have a 166, 3.5 and I'm debating whether to go ED, what do yall think my chances are. This. If you're 100% sure you want BU and don't want the option to consider anywhere else if accepted, go for it. However, IMO with your numbers above the LSAT 75% last year, you'll probably get a decent amount of scholarships even in RD and you could negotiate more. It really comes down to what you want and if you are applying to other schools you'd rather attend. Either way, good luck!antiworldly wrote:If you're really set on BU, go for it, it can't hurt. Thanks for the responses guys. I really want BU but only if it's affordable. I sifted through last yrs acceptance thread and saw that a lot of people with really good numbers getting offered only $60,000 or less and many who negotiated didn't get much more. Does anyone know if BU is typically stingy with RD scholarship money? I'm scared if I don't ED I'll get a horrible offer.

If you ED BU, you get offered a full-tuition scholarship..calawgrl wrote:Thanks for the responses guys. I really want BU but only if it's affordable. That's what I've been noticing, meanwhile the BC page seems quite active.

Assuming you're referring to hearing anything about acceptances, the deadline for ED is 11/19 so I don't know if anything will be out before that. Anyway know anything about the timeline was last year in regards to results?cuboxing25 wrote:anyone hear anything?

Applied ED a couple days ago, BU would be so perfect for me if the price is right. Fingers crossed. Anyone know if they hold off until around 12/19 to make decisions on ED applicants or could it come earlier?

A few of us are trying to figure that out but as of now I'm not sure if there's any idea on what the timeline would be. It's definitely a puzzling year for predicting results since their medians have dropped so far in the past five years. I'm really hoping that the trend of super high scorers applying elsewhere (or at least not applying BU ED) will influence the types of scores that they accept for the distinguished scholar program. Who knows though haha, I'll keep researching and see what I can find.Gungnir wrote:Applied ED a couple days ago, BU would be so perfect for me if the price is right. Fingers crossed. Does anyone know how many people they take for ED? I'm so anxious I looked through last years entire thread and it didn't look like a lot of people got in

I have no idea how many they take, but last year they had about 1,500 apply according to an article and out of those only 7 posted on lsn, and all were either denied or deferred. So go crazy!Iwanttolawschool wrote:I was wondering this as well, I tried this "Google". No luck. It won't hurt to apply now. I know most schools won't note your application as complete until your retake is submitted, but I'm not 100% sure of BU's policy.mohdban wrote:Hey guys,
I have a 3.16/166 in engineering. I'm retaking in December for a higher LSAT.
Should I apply to BU now? Or should I wait till I get my December score?
Financial aid should not be a factor in my decision, fyi.

When I was applying I noticed they mentioned twice in the app that they will hold your app until your new score comes in so I'm guessing it won't matter if you apply now or after

A few things to keep ourselves positive though:RaiderRed wrote:I have no idea how many they take, but last year they had about 1,500 apply according to an article and out of those only 7 posted on lsn, and all were either denied or deferred. - Consider the TLS/Generally more prepared attitude of this group compared to the application body at large
- Consider the dropping medians
- Consider the number of people applying with numbers that just barely make it in, or people that apply with whatever LSAT score they have not even really understanding the significance of percentiles/how much preparation is needed/etc.
I'm sure there's an argument for the opposite side as well, but given that we're all trying to stay positive I figured I'd put that in here haha

That's the checker they sent us when our application was initially submitted, right? I feel foolish for asking but is the status we're looking for the "Current Status" section? Mine says application complete, anyone have under review yet?calawgrl wrote:I know I really hope they cant see how much I use the status checker bc I look crazy

yes, yes, and I have not gone under review as of yet. I know the app says people had until December 1st to go complete for ED so I'd imagine UR starts then? but I'm not sure
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
