Wow! So many of us!

I love how this thread is already turning into a thread about insane NYC real estate. On that note- anyone know much about prospect park?
Undegrad at NYU, lived in Park Slope about a block from Prospect Park. It's totally beautiful summer and winter, massive and nicer than Central Park (in my humble opinion). Great for cycling, dog walking, sitting by the lake... Live on the west side and pay quite a lot, live on the east side and pay not so much (though getting more and more lately.)

Thanks for the info - the SI and I are really into cycling and I think we need some nature being in the city so we will probably look around this area.

i live in sunset park, not too far from park slope
via bike lanes takes me 40-45 minutes to nyu (and i'm a very slow biker with a single speed folder)
also near the D, N, and R, the express train ride is 21 minutes to NYU plus walk time
re: green space, there's sunset park, prospect park, and greenwood all within walking distance
plus brighton beach and coney island are easy to get to by bike, just hop on the protected bike path on ocean parkway
and rent is very reasonable, for some reason sunset park never seemed to catch on like crown heights and bed stuy have
worth a look

They didn't announce medians, but they did announce class size and 75th/25th percentiles.

Class size (as of last week) is 454
LSAT 172/167
GPA 3.87/3.56

Thank you so much for this info!! I've been waiting. Looks like 75th for GPA went up slightly.

It seemed as if they admitted a lot of reverse splitters this cycle… :(

Question: In the C&F section they ask about sanctions from any academic institution. Does this extend to high school and middle school....? I don't want to contact my middle and high schools and have them write explanations for all the times that I got in trouble

I looked over that and it is vague enough that it could include things like detentions... Which is silly. I don't think they care that I got a detention in 7th grade for taking a decorative balloon from the ceiling.

Any current NYU'ers have a better answer?

yeah I just asked if they gave merit-based fee waivers and if I would qualify etc. etc.; it's based off some template floating around somewhere on here, though I don't remember where now :\

Current student. They won't care. You could disclose if you wanted to, it won't hurt you, but they won't care.

Anyone know anything about any sort of ED bump at NYU? Specifically for splitters. Looks as if reverse splitters got the better end of the deal from NYU last cycle.

Honestly, my impression is that the ED bump for anyone is small and not really worth giving up the ability to negotiate aid. I could be wrong though. It probably also depends on how big of a splitter you're talking about.

Statistically, it has zero boost. Not recommended. It might help on the margins getting off a wl?

I emailed admissions about their extremely broad C&F language (specifically about parking tickets) and was told this:

Thank you for your e-mail. We advise that our applicants err on the side of full disclosure and report everything, including traffic and parking violations.
