7 waitlists at every school 4-10 except UCB. Chances I get off one?

7 and counting, but would not be surprised if the total ends up exceeding 10. Statistically speaking, if that does happen, my not getting accepted of at least one of them would be an anomaly, but woearly things have happened. Whatever.

I was on five T14 wait lists and have somehow managed to secure three WL-->acceptance in the past 7 days.. Pretty surprised, and thrilled to say the least.

How'd you do it?herrowww wrote:I was on five T14 wait lists and have somehow managed to secure three WL-->acceptance in the past 7 days.. Pretty surprised, and thrilled to say the least.
LOCI spamming, campus visits, or sheer luck?

Only sent in 1 LOCI to each of the schools around weeks after the WL notifications and I haven't visited any of them. I am guessing sheer luck and apparently my LOCI did the trick.Brettanomyces wrote:How'd you do it?herrowww wrote:I was on five T14 wait lists and have somehow managed to secure three WL-->acceptance in the past 7 days.. Wow, Congrats. Maybe it was that Pic of Olivia Munn that did the trick...herrowww wrote:Only sent in 1 LOCI to each of the schools around weeks after the WL notifications and I haven't visited any of them. Oh, and if you don't mind my asking, which 3?

2 as of now...but expecting 2 or 3 more from schools I randomly decided to apply to last min. I want to ride them out but at the same time I'm feeling compelled to just end the anxiety and commit to a school that already offered money. I'm sure others are in the same dilemma

Right there with ya. 4 WLs, 1 acceptance (to the highest ranked one, oddly enough) with $$$, 1 still waiting. But from the outset I had my heart set on a different school, which WL'd me.laurvb wrote:2 as of now...but expecting 2 or 3 more from schools I randomly decided to apply to last min. Re: Can anyone beat 5 Waitlists?
Funny you say that! The first WL I received I was expecting an immediate rejection, while 1 of the schools I was super confident about hasn't even sent me a decision yet even though I applied to it significantly earlier. Meanwhile, my friend got a full ride to a school ranked higher than one he was admitted to with no $$$... Strange outcomes, which makes the waitlist process even more agonizing.Baby_Got_Feuerbach wrote:Right there with ya. 4 WLs, 1 acceptance (to the highest ranked one, oddly enough) with $$$, 1 still waiting. 8 Waitlists. Withdrew from 4 of them. Riding out the other 4 at this point (Columbia, NYU, Virginia, Duke).

Waitlisted at 10 schools, 2 acceptances, 0 rejections. Such a frustrating cycle
