168 was my first, so I have both retakes left. I'm torn between depositing at the best school I get into --> retaking in June for $$ -OR- full on sitting out a cycle, which would be painful. Retaking either way.

Retake in June and try to get off wait lists/get scholarship $$, if you don't get what you like take off cycle and retake again and apply early.

I was a reverse splitter (166/3.98) but thanks to using my last retake on the Feb test, I am now I'm above Median everywhere except YH. I literally went from expecting no money/rejections to expecting 100k+ at those same schools, and you and everyone in this thread can do this too if you put in the time and retake.

Sounds good, thanks. Plan is to retake in June and see if I can earn some fat stacks. If no one cooperates in renegotiation or if my score doesn't improve, I'm willing to sit out til next cycle - though this is not my favorite potential scenario!

I would just like to say that this board is awesome. It is hard to find people on TLS with low numbers and some 170+ scorers don't understand that retake is not as easy as it seems. Factors like work, school, and just general frustration from scoring low make it hard for people in the 150s- low 160s to want to study for months on end for a retake. I will most likely retake in June, but I can't stand the thought of it. Can I get a "+1?"

Why are you wasting your GPA like that? Consider retaking the LSAT and applying again in the fall.

At the very least, don't go to Cal Western. I know a girl who graduated from Cal Western a couple of years ago. Had a good GPA, but her LSAT score was just under 160. Refused to retake, but got money from Cal Western, and that sealed it for her. Ended up failing the CA bar twice and had to move back home. She's now a program assistant at a state agency.
