Are you out of state? I feel like UNC has a strong bias against people not from NC... Which sucks for me because it's recently become my top choice.hailcaesar34 wrote: Damn, mine's still complete from 11/6

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
My status has been complete since 12/5, but have checked status everyday with no change yet. This week I went under review at Central and received acceptance notification three days later. I believe with the State law schools they order applicants by hard numbers and then review systematically. It makes sense that those with high GPAs and LSAT scores are evaluated with priority and then notified early as well. I am someone with a GPA below the 25% and an LSAT of 160 so I do not expect my status to go "under review" for some time. I have an unusual background as a female engineer and have significant work experience as a public regulator so my letters of recommendation and personal statement are the greatest strengths in my application. Even with this I know as a lifelong North Carolinian my chances of admittance are slim to none. The UNC system is a public school and that requires transparency which means decisions for admittance must be above all required standards. As someone who pays quite a bit in taxes every year I want the educational opportunities my money supports to be for those most deserving. I congratulate all those admitted already and I hope all those coming from out of state will come to love it here and decide to live, work and raise their families in our beautiful state. I wish everyone the best of luck, and I can relate with everyone here that the hardest part is the need for patient waiting. Good luck!

Welp. GPA within median range and LSAT at 75% but from NYC... slowly coming to terms with the fact that I'll likely have to settle for Fordy.

I went complete on 1/3/14 and now my status is BLANK. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! lol
Out of state. GPA at 75th, LSAT over 75th. I really like UNC, so I hope this is a good thing...

I have a median GPA and above 75th LSAT, and I got in. Granted, my personal statement talked in detail about why UNC. But still. It's not impossible for us OOS-ers!The Dark Kite wrote:Welp. My status is also blank
Does anyone know what that could mean? I'm hoping it means a decision is on its way sometime soon!

My status went blank in late December (20th I think) and I was accepted last week. I hope this is a good sign for those of you still waiting!anonymous092 wrote:My status is also blankDoes anyone know what that could mean? I'm hoping it means a decision is on its way sometime soon!

This is my top school. I'm an OOS applicant with a 163 and 3.65 gpa. Any out of staters with similar stats get in?

Same. Not heading to WASHU? I know I'm not. They admitted me at sticker and I don't have those kinds of funds to expend right now.chingwoo wrote: I'm getting anxious waiting.

Has anyone (current students included) heard about the new building in Carolina North that is supposed to replace the current school? I've read about it through old articles but it doesn't seem like there is any recent information and it wasn't mentioned when I visited over the summer.

Does anyone know if UNC has a minimum acceptance or scholarship index? I know several schools have one. BYU for instance requires an index of 235 for scholarship consideration. What about UNC? I found the formula, but I don't know what it means in terms of acceptance, or scholarships.

Current student here. Not gonna happen any time soon. If a fancy building and bells and whistles are your concern, look elsewhere. That said, it is absolutely adequate and quite comfortable.lsatnoob wrote:Has anyone (current students included) heard about the new building in Carolina North that is supposed to replace the current school? If you care about top notch profs, great student services and opportunities, and a community of support, look no further. Just plan on being in the existing building the whole time if you are entering this fall.

Thanks for the info! Honestly I thought the building was fine when I visited I just wasn't sure if they were still considering the move.bigdog9 wrote:Current student here. What does it mean when our status checker says "complete?"

Re: UNC c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
It means it's complete, and now you have to wait to hear from them as they review it. In other words, they have all the necessary documents to review your application. Next it will say "accepted", "rejected" or "waitlisted" based on what the admissions committee decides.craigdowney wrote:What does it mean when our status checker says "complete?"
