The strange thing is, under demographic information, they assigned me an email address with the usfca email. Has anyone else had this happen or should I take it as a good sign?
I would say its good news. I'm admitted and mine has a USF email. I don't think it originally did.
If you have questions about the bay area law schools feel free to PM me! My housemate is a 2L at USF law. Also take TLS with a huge grain of salt. We all vary greatly in thought and beliefs lol

Is USF your top choice? Or what other schools are you considering and or admitted to?

Top choice is actually AZ State or Univ of AZ. I'm Native American and want to study Indian law and those schools offer a program. If I can't get in there though, Univ of San Fran seemed like a good choice to get a general JD and live in a nice location! Currently I'm on the east coast and this winter is not making me want to stay.

Haha fair enough. My friend is at the Arizona law school. The better one of the two. I forget which. But anyway, are you considering other bay area law schools?

Didn't apply anywhere else in the bay area simply because of cost of apps. I went for USF because I figured I had the best shot of getting in there and didn't want to pay another $60+ on schools where I may get rejected haha those costs really add up quickly

Hey Stefne, fellow Native American here, also interested in Indian Law! I thought I'd say hello since I too am considering USF and ASU. I am a Bay Area native so if you have any questions about the area, let me know!
Have you heard of the Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI) in New Mexico?

Hey! So great to see another Native on here. Have you heard back from either school? I'm looking into PLSI but not sure it's possible because that would require quitting my job way sooner than expected. Are you going? PM me and let's keep in touch, we're in such a small community it's nice to see someone else in the same boat!

Did you ever find out? My secondary email also changed to a usfca.edu yesterday and my status date changed as well, but I haven't received anything in my email. Just wondering if you had any updates.

Found out the day I posted I was nervous. Actually got the acceptance email before my status checker even changed. Now just waiting on official packet and scholly info.

Congratulations! Hopefully they'll give you a decent scholarship package, and hopefully I'll find out soon too!

It's between USF and Lewis and Clark. I live in Oakland and work in SF, but grew up in Portland. I have the opportunity to continue working at my law firm in SF while attending USF, which means I can continue paying my undergrad loans and have relevant job experience while in school. I don't have the same sort of opportunity in Portland. However, I really was impressed with Lewis & Clark and love and miss Portland. We will see -- I'm still waiting to hear back from both schools. Right now, I'm leaning towards USF.

Nice! Do you work for BigLaw right now in SF? or what kind of firm is it? I hope you scored the Dean's Scholarship as well?
Did you apply for any other bay area law schools?

Called USF today and found out I did not get any scholarship money. I did, however, get $10,000/yr to Suffolk over here on the East coast. I wonder if USF would match that? I'm still waiting on a few more decisions too.

Don't think USF will budge on their scholarships. Tried to negotiate with them early on and didn't get any movement. Also, their retention rate for schollys is a bit worrisome.

Yeah I tried negotiating too, even submitting other school's higher offers, and with new work/volunteer experience added to my resume since applying. They said they base it on your GPA and LSAT, and that they don't do offer matching
Congrats on the acceptance stefne!
