I was emailed saying I received a scholarship, but I did not find out the amount until they sent a letter separate from my admissions packet in the mail.

Anyone else in the same situation as me with an LSAT at their 25% but a GPA above their 75%? I'm not going to call myself a reverse splitter on here because I know what reaction I'll get... (RETAKE!! lol) Looks like I'm not being considered for any scholarship money at all considering I received my acceptance Dec. 14 and have not received any information regarding a scholarship as others have. Is this completely normal? Seems as though LSAT doesn't rank supreme for schollys for other schools considering I was offered acceptance and $$ to peer schools. I plan on trying to negotiate w/ Miami because of this as well as my relatively high GPA. Just trying to see if anyone is in the same boat as me at Miami! Thanks!

I am. LSAT below 25th but GPA way above 75th. Tried to negotiate some money after getting a full ride offer from the local tier 4 but all they said was "your lsat isn't high enough. We're looking for 160s for scholarship consideration"

Depending on what you plan to do with your degree, it may be a bad idea to attend Miami at sticker. However, if you are committed to public service, take a look at their HOPE public interest program. There are plenty of public sector jobs to be had in South Florida but you have to demonstrate commitment early on. The Miami-Dade State Attorney Office hires 2 new classes of ASAs each year and most come from UM so there are opportunities there but you have to put in the work. Luckily, there are programs like pslf/ibr that can ease the burden of paying off your debt. But you have to be sure you want to work in public service or it's gonna be a real bad time.

Can you stack scholarships like that? I thought that you had to choose one or the other. Also, when did you find out about being interviewed for Miami Scholars? I got a letter yesterday with my scholarship amount...
