I remember reading last year's applicants tales of getting phone calls from the dean for acceptances.

Ugh! But definitely not that bad since, with apps still dropping, you might look really good to them in a couple months.

Can I ask when you went complete and how you were notified?

A few years ago, I applied EA, and I was held over for regular decision. I ended up getting a full scholarship. You're still in the hunt.

Same for me last cycle, minus the full scholarship part.

Got the ED-->Regular decision today as well.

This is an extreme reach school for me so I'm feeling somewhat good right now.
Probably going to submit a LOCI soon. :)

How did the notification come? I didn't know whether to expect weekend activity on the tracker.

I moved to TX earlier this year and am still awaiting a clarification on my residency status. I should definitely qualify, but it has now taken ~2 weeks and I am wondering how long this process usually takes. They cannot consider my application until the residency issue is determined, which is unfortunate. Would it be gauche to call them this upcoming week and ask if there are any issues in processing that I could help resolve?

With the 2 page PS limit I don't have room to add any school specifics there, there are no optional essays, and I don't see anywhere to attach extra documents. Maybe I answered my own question, but just want to make sure.
I haven't applied yet so I'm not sure about the mechanics, but they do accept "Why X" essays. I spoke with a member of the admissions staff at a recent law fair, and it was recommended that I write one, so again, they definitely do accept them.

Checking in. I applied two weeks ago RD, haven't heard anything yet. This is one of my top choice schools, so I'm really hoping I get in with a scholarship (I'm out of state)

Checking in. This law school's amazing. Fall in the 50th percentile for both LSAT and GPA, so we'll see. Anyone have any idea on when RD applicants will start hearing back?

Hey congrats! AFAIK, you're the first person here to report an acceptance. How/when did you find out?

The Assistant Dean called me on Tuesday to notify and then I received my packet in the mail yesterday (I live in Austin so it was really quick).

If you moved to Texas earlier this year (before the semester started) and you're not in school, you should qualify (at least as I understand the rules), especially if you had some other reason to move here. But at the same time, yours will be a closer case and may take more time. Also, the standard of proof for residence is clear and convincing.

I've lived in Texas all but one year of my life. That one year occurred fifteen years prior to my applications to law schools (during which time I had lived, worked, attended public universities as a resident, married (a state professional licensee), started a business, and bought a house, all in Texas -- all of which is acceptable evidence of residency). Still, straightforward answers about where I graduated from high school confused the heck out of UH and led to (1) delays in processing my application and (2) a generous offer of in-state tuition as a pot sweetener once I was accepted (several weeks after my residency had been confirmed).

Checking in. I submitted Nov 7. I wasn't sure about UT but talking to Dean Ingram at an LSAC forum really convinced me it should be a top choice.

Haha that's crazy. Yeah I moved here early this year and bought a house, which is my primary residence, so I know I should qualify, but they are definitely taking their sweet time in processing my status. It's a shame because UT is one of my top choices and I'd like some finality early in this cycle without it being a whole drawn out affair.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
