For my first post on here, just wanted to say that I too was part of the admission rush from this afternoon. Very exciting! I am currently OOS, but I am from NC and plan to move back there so... quasi-OOS. I'll post my stats below. Congrats to everyone who also heard back today! A particularly nice way to start Thanksgiving:

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Greetings from Winston Salem!
For those of you who've been on TLS for a couple of years you may know that I am the Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid at Wake Forest Law. I routinely participate in discussions on TLS to bring clarity and civility to the situation whenever possible. I am here to make sure all of your questions about Wake Forest Law are addressed.
As you've figured out by now we released our first batch of admit decisions last week. We'll do our best to release another batch before Christmas and then weekly beginning in mid-January. We are still in the process of establishing our scholarship grid. Those who were obviously going to receive full tuition offers have been informed of their offers. Everyone else is in a holding pattern regarding scholarship until we finalize our analysis and reconcile against our insitutional goals. We've committed to informing you all of any scholarship offer no later than February 1, 2014.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns. We are always happy to put you in touch with current students, alumni, and/or faculty.
I look forward to getting to know many of you over the course of the next few months and years.
Warm regards,
Jay Shively

I am confused about this alerting them of other offers deal. What keeps me from adding an extra $5000 or so on top of the number that I am reporting from other schools? Do they have a way to verify what offers you have?daullibaba wrote:In via email just now!

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Negotiating scholarships is pretty standard. Most schools do it. They're just saying up-front to let them know so they can give you a more competitive offer rather than giving an initial offer and going back-and-forth. You normally just let the school know what your offers are, and they can ask you for proof if they want, but it would be stupid to lie about it.peaches23 wrote:I am confused about this alerting them of other offers deal. Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Greetings TLSers~
We typically ask for copies of the offers from the other schools before taking any action that may be influenced by the offer. Further most law schools maintain a fairly open line of communication with our peers. If we figure out you've lied about an offer you'd certainly lose your offer from us and probably the school you've lied about. Further if you falsified an email or offer letter, we'd send that along to the LSAC committee for Misconduct and Irregularity. Typically they'd find that misconduct occurred and forward documentation along with their findings along to every law school in the country.
Bottom line: There's a clear negative consequence to lying in this process.
Also anyone who would lie as a part of this process about anything should really consider whether law school is really the path for them.

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
I've been a long-time lurker on TLS and finally made my own account! Wake Forest app complete and ready for review as of 12/5! I'm so nervous because Wake is more of a reach for me (3.5/161) but I would do ANYTHING to get accepted!
What are people's thoughts on paying sticker for WFL?

Like with almost every non-T6 (or maybe even HYS) schools, I think most would advise against it. But WF seems to be generous with aid from what I can tell, so don't worry about it yet.LShopeful628 wrote:I've been a long-time lurker on TLS and finally made my own account! Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
Thanks for making me feel a bit better. I think that if they give me any money at all I would go, even if it's still more expensive than other schools I get accepted to.AT9 wrote:Like with almost every non-T6 (or maybe even HYS) schools, I think most would advise against it.
