Complete: 12/17
Admitted: 12/20

No scholarship info yet. Been home since acceptance, so it might be waiting in my mailbox at school.

Re: Santa Clara c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I'm seriously considering, though I'm from the area and I'd like to practice here. The near-zero debt I'd have from 1L is hard to ignore. I still plan on trying to negotiate for more, but that's all in the game now isn't it?Moonlight wrote:Nice, I imagine you'll get at least 10K in scholly. What do you guys think of the scholarship offers thus far? How many of us are seriously considering going based on the current offers?krispymenudo wrote:Complete: 12/17

And do you guys think they'll offer more? And are we all still being considered for Dean's Fellowships?
Regarding Dean's Fellowships, I have no idea. I would imagine the additional scholarships are going to be opened for applications/considerations probably closer to February once they have a larger pool of admitted students to pull from.

Hard to say at this point. Did you just finish retaking the LSAT earlier this month? Your posts indicate a change from 158 to 160.jstellini wrote:went complete 11/19

Then they've probably been waiting due to that. You should hear sometime early next month, if I had to guess. Are scores even out yet?jstellini wrote:yes i did

Nope, if anything I'm over represented: White/Asian mix. Business background, but my GPA took a dive while I was still an engineering major (first two years of college.)Moonlight wrote:Are you URM? Or do you have any really hard to come by special aspects? I have a lot higher GPA and I merely got 15K a year with that 3.0 Stip. Not cool. Can't think of anything too unique about me, except maybe that I spent a summer interning at a firearms retailer, or that I got to interview chief officers for some major corporations as part of an upper division class.

Hearing about the fast turnaround is making me look forward to hearing back! I think I got in right on the holiday shutdown. Submitted 12/20, got the receipt email 12/21. Online checker still says waiting on CAS report, but I know everything is ready. Probably just needs updating when they get back in the office.

Re: Santa Clara c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014)
I actually have very similar numbers to the original post and I got 20k/yr, so your numbers are overall better than mine due to your GPA, which is much much greater. It probably has a lot to do with an applicant's background. I imagine they might provide more $$ to applicants going into IP with strong credentials (e.g., PhD, patent/tech work experience) since this is a major focus of the law school. This is just one possible explanation.Moonlight wrote:squee116 wrote:Nope, if anything I'm over represented: White/Asian mix. Bummer. My GPA is 3.78 and my LSAT is 160 and yet I didn't get anywhere near those amounts. Anyone got any guesses as to why?

Their considerations do seem to be holistic. I myself have put in a couple years of public interest work since finishing UG. Are you a K-JD, Moonlight?mx23250 wrote:I actually have very similar numbers to the original post and I got 20k/yr, so your numbers are overall better than mine due to your GPA, which is much much greater. 30k scholly. No mention of maintaining a 3.0... is this stipulation mentioned elsewhere?
