and i've gotten yelled at for saying what a reverse splitter should be defined as. which is why i just said good luck to all, arguing over terminology is uselessaz21833 wrote:lol iv gotten yelled at for both considering and not considering myself a reverse splitter. i wish i had a home

Re: Reverse Splitter Results 2012-2013
AH same with me! Took a prep course, and was scoring 168+ on practice tests. Ended up with a 162 on the December test, (my third attempt). I am not even mad about my score considering I raised it five points in less than a month.cbarlow1016 wrote:I did take a prep course (blueprint) and got tutoring and managed to get my practice tests up to 170+. I took the test twice and somehow was not able to perform up to my potential. I probably will retake in June (even if just for scholarship money/to get off some waitlists) but I'm applying this cycle anyway just to see what happens.nigerian22 wrote:Have you thought about taking a prep course and retaking the LSAT? Your UGPA is brilliant - perhaps you should use it with a higher score. If you can crack 165, you will be seriously competitive for T14.
p.s. you might STILL crack T14 but 165/+ will almost make it yours to lose. If you can somehow raise it to 170, you should be able to get into HYS (maybe not with money) and CCN with money
Cumulative GPA: 3.7; degree GPA: 3.81 (4.0 in my major). I know the latter doesn't really matter but it also doesn't hurt.

Withdrew from Duke, Penn, and Colorado prior to decision. I believe Duke was going to ding me, but we'll never know.
Some of this is my particular softs/WE. Some of it, I believe, is the weirdness of this cycle with the shifting dynamics of the market and reduced #s of applicants. I saw evidence of a thorough review across the board.

Re: Reverse Splitter Results 2012-2013
I enjoy reading these sort of things; hope others will contribute also.
3.95/162, non-URM. Also a veteran.
In:
Illinois + sch.
Notre Dame
William & Mary + sch.
Washington & Lee
Chicago-Kent + sch.
DePaul + sch.
Penn State + sch.
Wisconsin + sch.
JMLS + full sch.
Waitlist:
Fordham
Pending:
Chicago
Northwestern
I wrote extra essays for IL, ND, W&L, & Northwestern, and I've interviewed at Northwestern and Chicago. I retook LSAT, never scored much higher in training. My experience resembles kingsfield69 to some extent in that I felt each school has taken a good amount of time to dive in to my application; I've been waiting at Chicago, for example, since October.

Re: Reverse Splitter Results 2012-2013
Would you be willing to share what you believe got you into Chicago? You don't have to be specific if you don't want, but if you could at least give a vague reply (great story in PS) I'd appreciate it. My numbers are similar, so I'm interested.nolatlien wrote:Posting this in the right place to give future reverse splitters some hope!
