Have you dudes with 3.9s and 4.0s taken the LSAT the max number of times yet?

I only took it once. I studied hard for the LSAT and got the same score on the real test that I always got on my practice tests. I was nothing if not consistent.

That is discouraging it is that difficult. Oh well- we will see if it is possible to negotiate then. Thanks!

I just got it yesterday. It was postmarked 1/7 (the day I got the email). But I'm like a 45 minute drive from UIUC.hhockberger wrote:Has anyone gotten the admitted student packet yet? How long after the email did you get it?

Re: UIUC Class of 2016
They don't include very much information in the packet, FYI. It's just a letter that says basically the same thing as the email, a sheet about the "Illinois Guarantee" (tuition rate locked in for 3 years), a list of tuition and fees, and contact info for the admissions office. Nothing about, you know, employment statistics, CSO, or any other important factors to consider when deciding on a school.hhockberger wrote:Thanks! Well no school is gonna put employment statistics in the admitted students packet. Not accurate ones at least. You've gotta do your own research on that

Decided to put in an application last night. UIUC undergrad, lived my entire life in central Illinois. Feel free to ask any questions about life in C-U!

I can add a pro and con for each (I did not go to UIUC but I live and work in Chicago)romanticegotist wrote:Top 3 best and worst things about C-U, go.
Pro: Illinois is ubiquitous... I feel like everyone that I work with and see on the street wears UIUC proudly
Con: It's nowhere near Chicago. If you like urban environments, Illinois is not going to give it to you

Haha I figured as much. If I can get good money and it's true that UIUC grads perform well in Chicago then I think I can suffer Urbana for a few years. I mean, hard to get more boring than Omaha, sooo

Speaking strictly about life in C-U and not the college of law itselfromanticegotist wrote:Top 3 best and worst things about C-U, go.a2blifeUIUC wrote:Decided to put in an application last night. Best:
1. A very laid back place to spend a stressful 3 years. The people are very nice and life is slower than in bigger cities.
2. A pretty respectable variety of bars/restaurants/nightlife for the size it is. Once you know the area, there isn't much that you can't find in town.
3. Cost of living can be very low. Urbana tends to be lower cost, old houses, everyone riding bikes and wearing Birkenstocks. Champaign has the fraternity/sorority crowd, a few $1000/mth+ "high-rises" and some super super cheap (kind of shady) apartments on the north end.
Worst:
1. If Champaign doesn't have what you desire, you're two hours away. While that is 2 hours, it's an easy drive to Chicago, Indy, or STL.
2. The small town feel isn't for everyone. I'm having a hard time picturing myself in Boston or Philly, and I imagine the opposite is true for those in big cities thinking about UIUC.
3. You will at some point cross paths with an ignorant redneck. There's no avoiding it. I'd say just embrace it as cultural diversity and move on quickly.

I live in Texas now so that is definitely not a deterrent. Thanks for the info!a2blifeUIUC wrote: 3. You will at some point cross paths with an ignorant redneck. There's no avoiding it. I'd say just embrace it as cultural diversity and move on quickly.

Waitlisted today. Not really surprised, but still kind of a bummer.
Complete 1/8/12. 3.06, 164, great softs.

Shoot, waitlisted as well. I felt pretty confident about UIUC, due more to the continued drop in applicants and LSN data than any snowflakeyness of my own. Nevertheless, I am excited to still be in consideration and will be submitting my LoCI soon. Best of luck to those still waiting!
