Must have read that held email about 8 times now, not sure what I expect to find each time, but the message never changes

I was pretty surprised as well. Good luck, hopefully we both get in! (And everyone else in here)bananasplit19 wrote:Crap, held applications are getting touched this early? Also joining the hold party. Got held 1/14/2013. 166 / 3.75 Non-URM. Has anyone on held from early decision heard anything yet? How's everyone feeling about this? Also, anyone on held planning a visit in January? I'm contemplating doing one soon myself.

Welcome to the club, Sammy. I don't think anyone has heard anything yet, although I guess some have had status updates (see above posts). How are we feeling about this? About what you'd expect, vacillating between buying voodoo dolls and staging a hunger strike.SGrant723 wrote:Also joining the hold party. Got held 1/14/2013. 166 / 3.75 Non-URM. I'm actually visiting this Friday for an info session/guided tour. If I can trap an adcom in a corner and get some face time, that would be wunderbar, but mostly it's for LOCI reasons. No idea if it will help my case at all, but it sure couldn't hurt!

There is a part of me that is contemplating trying to make it for this information session! Though I am worried it may be full.

PM me if you end up making it this Friday. I'll be the guy on his knees, quietly trying to slip money to anyone related to the admissions office.SGrant723 wrote:There is a part of me that is contemplating trying to make it for this information session! Though I am worried it may be full.

Haha I absolutely will. Maybe we can make a bigger stack of money. I'm worried it may look desperate if I suddenly tell them I want to try to visit? I'm coming from Chicago. Or perhaps it will just look committed!

Re: Held at Georgetown
Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but you all would know.
I have seen a lot of people posting about interviewing at GULC or with alumni; is this mandatory?
I am thinking about sending in an app, but due to my current living situation, I would be unable to attend an interview.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Held at Georgetown
From what I understand it's by invite and they use several different methods... On-campus, off-campus with an alum, and group interviews. They may also do skype if I remember correctly. So even if you can't travel and are invited to interview, I don't think you are completely SOL.CR2012 wrote:Not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this, but you all would know.

Oh, nice. Thanks. So I guess I should just submit and then wait for further instruction.
Good luck to everyone here.

Just wondering... do your status checkers say "Application Held per Request"?

Hmm...did you indicate at any point that they should wait to review your application until you sent a new LSAT score or something of that nature?uhhuh2004 wrote:Just wondering... do your status checkers say "Application Held per Request"?

Regarding being held and being placed on a wait list, where does preferred wait list stand?

The countdown clock for the Held crew is now at T-29 days as we roll into February...anyone have any updates? Or just stony radio silence since their held letter?

Is it just me, or is every single aspect of this years cycle taking an exceptionally long time?

Re: Held at Georgetown
I asked in the main thread...apparently last year all the holds got their decisions basically ON the 28th, and most were WL/denies. Sooo....it's apparently a normal level of sad slow.lydonjc wrote:Is it just me, or is every single aspect of this years cycle taking an exceptionally long time?

I was dinged last month after being held for about two months. I'd say no news is good news.lollipop555 wrote:does anyone get in after being held?!
