Anyone going to the kickin' Open House tomorrow? I'm going to that and then checking out DePaul and maybe Loyola afterwards.

I had to work Saturday, what did you think about Kent? How did the OpenHouse go overall?illiniguy1551 wrote:Anyone going to the kickin' Open House tomorrow? I'm going to that and then checking out DePaul and maybe Loyola afterwards.

I like Kent a lot, especially the library. I also did a self-guided tour of DePaul and John Marshall, didn't like those two schools as much. Wanted to tour Loyola but never got a chance. Open House was overall a good experience, will probably attend Kent over SLU depending on cash.criminaltheory wrote:I had to work Saturday, what did you think about Kent? Thanks, you too! How long was your essay? They say 'brief,' but I'm not quite sure what that means. As of now mine is about a page single-spaced, but not finished...hhockberger wrote:I applied about a week ago. Good luck!!bookside wrote:Anyone apply for the Honors Scholar thing? I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one pushing the deadline. Mine ended up 2 pages double space, 12pt.bookside wrote:Thanks, you too! How long was your essay? I ended up submitting nothing additional for the Honors statement; just a short cover letter expressing my interest and referring them to my existing personal statement. I felt like less was more since my PS basically answered the questions they were getting at for the Honors program.

The Honors Scholars app requires a letter of rec. Anyone know if that's in addition to the letters already attached to your original application? I'm assuming my existing letters of rec cover me for the Honors Scholars app.

The recs included in your original app are enough.letitloose wrote:The Honors Scholars app requires a letter of rec. Anyone know if that's in addition to the letters already attached to your original application? I'm assuming my existing letters of rec cover me for the Honors Scholars app.

Haha, I didn't finish until about an hour ago! Mine ended up being 1.5 pages, single spaced. Ugh, too long I think. How faux pas would it be to submit an application for the Honors Program with a 164?

I don't think they'd rescind your acceptance or anything...goCATSgo wrote:How faux pas would it be to submit and application for the Honors Program with a 164?
