For those who recently been accepted, how long ago did you go complete? I went complete at 1/7 and still have yet to have any updates.

Re: Connecticut (UConn) c/o 2016
Quick question for those of you who have visited/attended/live in the area... how is it? I've seen pictures online and it looks like a cute small city, but from what I've read, it's supposedly incredibly boring. I'm from Buffalo, NY, just for reference- we have lots of cultural events/festivals/art galleries/coffee shops/wine bars and dive bars galore/live local music/theater... I'm looking for something similar.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I live in the area and if you know the right spots there is definitely enough to do! As far as the coffee shops/bar scene goes West Hartford and local suburbs have some really good spots. Hartford also has one of the best concert venues in the Comcast Theater which is especially popular in the summer time. There are also some broadway shows and events that go on in the Bushnell Theater. The XL Center which is downtown hosts many UConn basketball games, CT Whale and college hockey games, and other concerts.mg1185 wrote:Quick question for those of you who have visited/attended/live in the area... how is it? Re: Connecticut (UConn) c/o 2016
I just visited. The campus is beautiful - a little run down in some buildings, nothing bad. The students and faculty are friendly. Having grown up in CT the people seemed somewhat familiar if that makes sense. West Hartford is a nice little town. Campus and the town were both completely dead though. It was also 20 degrees and covered in snow, so people weren't exactly hanging around outside...

Re: Connecticut (UConn) c/o 2016
Having grown up in a small, boring town in CT, West Hartford is one of my favorite places (it's where my boyfriend grew up). There's certainly tons to do, from coffee shops to bars to shopping, and beautiful parks in the summer time. However, none of that is within walking distance to UConn law, which is in the West End of Hartford, not West Hartford. That area is the complete opposite. There isn't much life around the campus itself, and the surrounding neighborhoods are rough. Hartford itself is a ghost town past 5pm and on the weekends. UConn is even looking to bring more life to Hartford by moving one of their satellite undergrad campuses from West Hartford to Hartford.
Not to be super negative, but it's important to me to live near campus during law school, close to other students. If I went to UConn, I feel like I'd most certainly be commuting from a nicer area.

Under review as of yesterday. How long did it take most to reach a decision from this point? Pretty excited for some movement!

I've been trying to find out the same thing. Anyone have the answer to this?
I got in a while ago, thought I would be getting some sort of scholarship. Still no mention of money. Has anyone else heard?

I went back and read some of the letters that were sent over a month ago and one of them did mention that they wouldn't be distributing scholarships until March (mid-March I think it said). At least that gave me hope that something could still be coming; we just have to be patient.

I didn't get a single update after going complete, and got my acceptance via email about 6 weeks later when I was getting pretty frustrated.

anyone going to ASD tomorrow? It's pretty short compared to some of the others I've attended - I'm a little grateful.

Has anyone tried to negotiate scholarship money with UConn? I'm out of state, so i'm sure my odds aren't great, but Brooklyn gave me $30,000/year. I like UConn a little more, tho, so I want to see if they can come forward with anything. It's between those two schools for me.

I'm kind of in the same boat - same scholly from BLS but I am in-state for UConn. I sent UConn an email with my other scholarship offers a few days before ASD and I haven't heard back yet.

got my scholarship last night - $20,000 Dean's scholar, first year only. I thought Dean's scholarships were renewable...did anyone else receive this? I was hoping for a bit more.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
