Oh, totally right. My comparison was useless, except to note to myself that 1/20 medians are typically higher than ultimate medians, which still gives me some hope.

If your comments were based off of the data in the spreadsheet I linked, then it is a comparison of 1/20/2012 to 1/20/2013... the linked spreadsheet isn't a comparison of 1/20/2013 to the end of the 2011-2012 cycle data.

I hadn't clicked the 2011-2012 tab before I posted, so I was just taking the 1/20/2013 data from your (awesome) spreadsheet and comparing it to my knowledge of the schools' c/o 2015 medians, which is pretty faulty (though still encouraging, especially looking at the 1/20/2012 medians vs. end-of-cycle medians for that year).

In terms of % of all applicants being reported on LSN, is it fair to say that LSN is growing in popularity each cycle? So each year we should expect to see a modest increase in LSN users as a percent of the total applicant pool. Just something to think about, maybe it's not growing in popularity, idk.

Sorry for the delayed response; I hadn't noticed that something was posted in this thread until now. Unfortunately, the data that the TLSer posted last cycle didn't paint a full picture of the number of applicants on LSN (rather, their data only contained applicants who had received some type of result: accept, deny, or waitlist). However, we definitely know that the number of applicants as a whole is down based off of what LSAC has released.

Also, can you explain what the different "Index" numbers mean in the orange, purple and grey columns? Thank you for putting this together!

Unfortunately, I am not sure how to interpret the numbers in the various "Index" columns on that one table; I simply copied the tab with data from 2012/1/20 over into my workbook to make the comparison, and I pretty much ignored the right-hand side of the sheet.
