Hey! Admitted as of 12/20/12.
Applied 11/01/12
Submitted my residency app a couple weeks after that; was determined to be an in-state resident.
File went complete on 11/14/12.
Hope everybody else gets good news, too! I am waiting to hear back from a few more schools but am heavily leaning towards UNC at this point.

How long did it take you guys to get an "application received" email from UNC? I submitted on Tuesday and haven't heard a peep from them.

Really? A whole week, just for the "application received" automated email? That seems a bit ridiculous when folks on LSN got the "received" email either the same day, or at most two days later.

If you haven't heard by the end of day Monday, I would contact them Tuesday morning. It took me a few days to get mine, but I submitted over the weekend.
Edit: Also, I assume you have triple checked your spam/junk folder. I had an "application received" email from a different school get stuck there.

I called earlier but no one answered. Guess I'll wait until Monday. I have been checking my spam folder constantly because William and Mary's emails were in there.

Haha, that is the school I had issues with as well.

It's like my email filter is trying to tell me something...

Is it just me, or does UNC seem to be a little slow on releasing decisions? There hasn't been a lot of movement on here or LSN.....

I was admitted rather quickly, but from what I can gather, they do take their time.

Yes, they are very slow to respond.
Scholarships won't come out until March.

Looking back at the threads from the past few years, it seems like a lot of acceptances come out in March and WL's and dings are later (April and into May). For those of us around the medians I think any sooner than March is a bonus.

So what does everyone else expect scholarship wise? I think UNC looks to be a bit frugal (according to LSN) in distributing merit funding.

Just checking in, my status updated to under review today (1/28). I submitted the 3rd of Jan. Is there any consensus on the speed of decision once they have started looking over it, or should I still expect a March ish decision? I just haven't really seen any talk of movement here.

In (some) past years, an update to Under Review meant an acceptance the next day. Sit tight.

Last year people bounced between complete, under review, complete and ready for review, under review again, etc etc, sometimes over the course of months. I'm afraid to say it might not mean anything. Please report back, I'll cross my fingers for you!

*bump*
If past years are any indication, some admit decisions will be going out this week.
Would love to know stats/instate/outofstate for anyone who goes under review or gets admitted.
162/3.11/oos hoping not to be waitlisted again. The wait is long. Here's to February!

I'm still stuck at complete sometime early November (don't remember the exact date off the top of my head), and OOS as well. I would love to hear this week as well, but think most of us will be waiting for a while still.
