Email and snail mail for admits/WLs. Status checker only for dings.

Really hoping the first batch will be out before then. They said last week that it would be out "by the end of November." So, tomorrow or Friday.

Did anyone just get the "decision rendered" email from W&L? I feel like that was a "don't forget to check your status checker later, because we won't be sending you an email (psst.. you're rejected)" but I'm a pessimist with low #s. haha!

I got that email, but the status checker shows that that's one of the steps that has to be checked off. I think they send it to everyone as a heads up either way!

I just got the email. It was worse than the Thanksgiving email because it said "Decision" in the subject line.

I applied two years ago. I also just got this e-mail. It follows the same pattern from last time I applied (and was accepted). They sent an e-mail late morning saying a decision would be posted by the end of the day and then another saying I had been accepted. I forgot when the scholarship e-mail came. They don't consider need, so most accepted folks get 20k or 40k a year, depending on strength of numbers and such. I will check what the timing was last time around.

I went and looked through my e-mails. I think I used a different e-mail two years ago, so I can't provide exact timing, but I believe the acceptance came sometime around 4 pm, which was several hours after the initial notification that a decision would be rendered by the end of the day.

I only went "In Review" a week and a half ago, but have higher numbers so I thought that might get me in the first batch.

Very surprised by this. This has to be related to all of the deferrals and limited class size. Doesn't bode well for the rest of the cycle. We may be seeing a lot of WLs. =/

I was really shocked. I really liked Washington and Lee and was expecting an admit and hoping for some $$$.

I am really worried something in my application (resume, personal statement, addendum) must have hurt me. This makes me worried about the rest of my cycle.
