Re: University of Miami Law Applicants 2012-2013 Cycle
Hey guys! I'm new to the forum but I got my acceptance over the weekend so I thought I would share my numbers:
158/3.95, accepted on 11/22
Really need a scholarship to go though so I'm still on edge. Also applied to Miami Scholars but I heard they don't get back to you about that until February(ish). I called and they said scholarship info should be released around the end of December, but I went to the open house last week and the admissions director said last year he had given out most (if not all) of his scholarship money by Christmas, so hopefully we'll hear earlier!

I believe that's the status checker until it has been updated by the school.

Accepted today via email telling me to check my status checker! Sweet! Never even knew that I went complete.
Scholarship money should come in the next few months, correct?

How long from application time till you got that email? I haven't gotten any sort of confirmation from the U that they received anything... but LSAC sent me a confirmation.

I remember it taking a few days to get an email. Also, your application with them isn't considered "complete" until they get a hard copy of it from LSAC, which takes a few more days. But the good news is the director of admissions is pretty fast with making decisions so all in all it shouldn't take more than 3-4 weeks tops.Riley843 wrote:How long from application time till you got that email? That is the status check page. With mine, there were no updates of "under review" etc. but you get an email when they have a decision for you. At the open house, the director of admissions said after your file is complete it takes about 10-15 days for him to reach a decision. But if you're really anxious to know exactly where you are in the process, call the admissions office. They're all really friendly and willing to help.

ah thanks for all yalls help. I got the email just a few hours ago. Hopefully I find out in the next month! Hope I applied in time to be considered for scholarship money. Miami is my #2 choice and my #1 is a HUGE reach and I probably won't get in... so here's crossing my fingers for money!

Well that sucks because I had the same problem trying to find a status.

For those of you admitted (or not I guess), can you tell me anything about the campus/area? I've heard totally different things about Coral Gables lol but just want to get some feedback... I can't readily visit b/c I'm in CA.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
