I was napping and woke up to a voicemail from Andy. But, I don't see how I pass it up.

Congrats to everyone who's gotten in from the waitlist!!! Does anyone know if offers will also be made next week or will the next round of offers not take place until after June 1st?

Would anyone who has been admitted be willing to share how much money (each year or total) they have received. Curious how much they may be giving out to waitlisted students (although I'm sure it differs per person).

They requested that offers be kept confidential.

When I spoke to them a few weeks ago, I was told that not everyone waitlisted accepts their offer, so if their deadline for the deposit is not met , they will call others on the list.
After that, yes, they said it will be after June 1st.

ks Mommy,

Hang in there.

Emory's 2nd deposit is due June 1st ($500)

After that they may have more seats open up.

Hope you mentioned your circumstances and achievements in a LOCI to them.

Best wishes.

I doubt that's the case. There are likely folks who will be pulled off a waitlist elsewhere and withdraw as well as people getting into Emory off the waitlist who will decline after their 48 or 72 hours or whatever they give, thus reopening the spot they were offered.

Seems like they've made the initial wait list offers from the 1st deposit date. Does anyone know if people have been dinged from the wait list?

... crickets ....

I guess it's safe to assume now that there'll be no movement 'till June 1, huh?

Except maybe people getting released from the waitlist <shudder>.

I wish Emory would just call me. I don't want to get settled in at UF and then have to weigh in the factor of having to eat 2 apartment leases to attend Emory. :/

withdrawing of the waitlist today... :/ wherever i end up going I will need a one year deferral and since us WL candidates arent as good as the other regular admits, Emory doesnt give me that option, so yea.........

Does anyone think that the lack of action off the wait list has to do with professors grading spring finals? I've noticed a sharp decline in WL movement from multiple schools these past 2 weeks. Counting down the days till 2nd deposit is due. Hopefully some spots open up!

Emory rising 2L here. Last year, we had people getting off the waitlist pretty much up to the last day of orientation/first day of school.

For what it's worth, Emory has been an amazing academic experience along with an amazing community and brilliant people. I could not be happier with my decision to go here and have not had one negative experience (except Atlanta traffic, which will quickly make you lose your sanity). If you have any questions about the school, feel free to message me.

Just called to confirm they had my LOCI I sent in April. $500 seat deposit due June 1st (that's a big price tag, so I assume people will drop). The guy on the phone said evaluation of waitlisted candidates will begin in the beginning of June. Fingers crossed :).

Thanks for the update! fingers crossed here too. I visited a "competing" school this past week and they told me that there were quite a few a applicants that were double deposited, so I imagine thats the case with Emory too

I've been trying to contact the Emory admissions, but they have been VERY unresponsive... How's the situation with everyone else?

Oh, Emory. I'm loving the idea of Atlanta right now. Pull me off that waitlist :)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
