I won't give it away for this guy, but it's a T14 school. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

If this is not a troll, then CONGRATULATIONS. I am super curious as to what school it is, though - is it a California school? They tend to be more lenient RE: LSAT, right? Plz PM if you feel comfortable with it!!!
And again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Congrats OP! PM school?
In Ann Levine's book she mentions how she checked off the wrong box one time and let a kid with an LSAT score in the 130's (!) into her school, so this stuff does happen from time to time.

Re: Mistake made???
With how many decisions are made... I'd be shocked if there isn't at least 1 mistake a year... that being said I bet it is usually caught when deposit is submitted (I hope I'm wrong).

Re: Mistake made???
im still on the fence as to whether i was accepted in error or not. due to the amount of interest in which school I was "accepted" to, I will give things a week to see if i hear anything from the school and once i think im clear i will post the school
fyi: i took a big chance on my personal statement and this may be the reason however no other school has bit on my personal statement yet

If your gpa was high, they may have used that to boost the median, and not really cared about the LSAT score for some non-numerical reason.
This.

If you got in, you got in. I have never heard of anyone being rejected after being admitted, only one person accepted after being rejected. Just be grateful you got in and presume they didn't make a mistake because there is a 99% chance they didn't.

If it's Cornell, then it's not unusual. Was it a T-13, but not a T-12 ?

I really want this to be legit. Realistically, there is no harm in every school admitting a person or two that is way below numbers as long as the percentiles don't change. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more.

This has to be one of the very few threads where the entire board seems genuinely ecstatic for some dude. Or maybe I'm just in before the trolls..

I too was waiting for someone to call this as fake, but if it's fake it's the most masterful trolling I have ever seen. The restraint has been epic.Azmatt wrote:This has to be one of the very few threads where the entire board seems genuinely ecstatic for some dude. Or maybe I'm just in before the trolls..

Re: Mistake made???
Its probably Cornell I almost got in with a 2. somethin GPA and a LSAT below their 25th, but significantly above the OPs. They wait listed me and when I spoke to them on the phone they said they loved my story and really encouraged me to come interview. I took a big chance not the PS as well, and they were one of the only schools to reward me. Like one of three schools that seemed to like me, and I applied to 30. I was mid twenties white male. I now attend CU on merit scholarship-- they also must subscribe to a legit full file review.
I've been really impressed with their Cornell's rhetoric ever since, mainly because they seem to be the only top school that tells the truth in their admission brochures. I have a few friends with better stats that blanketed the T-14 and all of our perceptions of Cornells admission strategy lined up.
Major congrats OP.

I was waiting more for some dude with a ~170 dinged at ______ Law School to be pissed that Mr. Simpson took what the aforementioned dude considers to be "his" acceptance.Opie wrote:I too was waiting for someone to call this as fake, but if it's fake it's the most masterful trolling I have ever seen. Everyone's happy to see proof that numbers don't define them/dreams come true/etc., but you could imagine that someone with only numbers going for them might be bitter.
ETA: My sincere congratulations to Mr. Simpson!
