I can confirm that Susan Wilson does, in fact, monitor TLS threads on OU.imbored25 wrote:bro you know she might be looking at this thread right now and be eliminating your from getting more money

Don't know what the big deal is, I can be an OU fan as well, haha. I know that's unusual, but I am a fan of all Oklahoma teams. It usually depends on who it will help the most as to who I want to win in football or basketball. However, in wrestling I am pretty much always OSU. Heck, our president at OSU, who probably came up with that brightest orange slogan, graduated from OU Law after OSU UG.
Anyway, yes I am aware that's how OU awards a portion of their scholarships. It's fine with me, figure that's just icing on the cake if I am lucky enough to pick up anything extra later on down the road.

You, sir/madame, are the worst kind of fan. I hope OU loses every game they play in every sport by 100 points. And I'm going to be an alum of their law school in a few months.Oklahoma2014 wrote:Don't know what the big deal is, I can be an OU fan as well, haha. I really didn't mean it in a rude way at all, I just thought it was a kinda weird way of doing it, that's all.

Haha, I would be bitter too if I were a UT fan.
Edit: Forgot to add, the best football coach you all ever had came from Oklahoma. If not for him, you probably wouldn't have 3 of those 4 national titles.

CHW: It's not so much what you said, as how you said it. (Look at the second sentence of your third paragraph.) Anyway, I'd stop back-tracking, delete/edit your comment, and start PMing people asking them to take down the quote.

I'm a 3L at OU if there are any questions, shoot.
No shot at coastal biglaw; no shot at Dallas or Houston biglaw either. We're sending one person to Dallas biglaw out of this year's class. She's from Dallas, had great contacts to the firm before law school, and is ranked at or near number one in our class. You won't be that person, so don't do it.
Starting salaries for most of my class probably range in the $38-$55k range. There are exceptions (market rate in OKC and Tulsa is $100k, but there are approximately 10 of us who got market rate jobs this year).
Didn't OU just completely turn around their career services office? I know they have secured OCI's with many big city firms in Texas. Also, they have secured internships in both DC and LA. From what I've heard I think there will be strong job prospects coming out of OU in the future.

CHW - there are several people asking about EAP on the facebook page "OU Law Class of 2015". You might check there, if you haven't been invited yet I am sure if you shoot Susan or Autumn an email they will send you an invite to the page.

Awesome, thanks, I bet I haven't been sent the info yet bc I'm trying to decide between doing EAP or the Pre-Law Summer Institute at the American Indian Law Center, I've petitioned the admissions committee to allow me to substitute the PLSI for EAP, but if i'm going to OU for sure then I should just do EAP since you get the credit for it. Ah, the grand chess match that is law school applications...Oklahoma2014 wrote:CHW - there are several people asking about EAP on the facebook page "OU Law Class of 2015". While Patrick seems to be giving some good advice on this forum I think we still need to be cautious with his comments as I found this quote on last year's OU thread:
"OSU is never, ever going to win the Big12 south"

Thank you. I'm on the wait list, and I just wanted to know when they'd have a better picture of how many students they are going to let in. I guess the waiting game begins for me yet again.Oklahoma2014 wrote:The email I received said April 1st.Bluewavesix wrote:Anyone know when is/was 1st seat deposit due?

Good luck. Hopefully you will hear something this week. Have you done any follow up since you were waitlisted? If not, you might try that.Bluewavesix wrote:Thank you. Thank you for letting me know about your withdrawal. It makes me feel a little better. I recently visited the school and have written a LOCI. At this point, I don't want to get annoying on them, so I'm laying low. I may e-mail later in the week to check my status.

Conservative contact is usually considered around once a week, so you should be ok, no worries.Bluewavesix wrote:Thank you for letting me know about your withdrawal. It makes me feel a little better.
