Submitting soon. I my numbers are on the low end, should I write a why Vandy? Or are those generally to prevent YP?

From what I recell, there is no place to attach a 'Why Vandy' statement to the app. You could attach it in the diversity statement spot, or the C&F statement spot, I guess, but I would take the fact that they don't have space for one as an indication they don't want one.franklyscarlet wrote:Submitting soon. I actually asked about that at my interview (on-campus, with one of the admissions reps). She said that the interview can fill a similar purpose, since a standard question is 'why Vandy?'

Yes, Vandy's app does not have space for an addendum of any kind, apart from diversity and C&F. I needed to attach a transcript addendum and so I e-mailed admissions about the lack of attachment options, and they said I was welcome to add any addendum I'd like to the diversity or C&F spots, regardless of the topic. I also wrote a Why Vandy after I had already submitted my application (I didn't interview and became paranoid about YP), and they sent a prompt reply letting me know that it had been added to my file.AntipodeanPhil wrote:From what I recell, there is no place to attach a 'Why Vandy' statement to the app. You could attach it in the diversity statement spot, or the C&F statement spot, I guess, but I would take the fact that they don't have space for one as an indication they don't want one.franklyscarlet wrote:Submitting soon. So Vandy seems to take a bit longer than most to send out status checkers...?

Vandy doesn't have a status checker. You can log into their website and see when you're under review and when they've mailed a decision. That's it.tennisballs wrote:So Vandy seems to take a bit longer than most to send out status checkers...?

Got an email fee waiver today and submitted today! Does anyone know why there wasn't a spot to attach the scholarship application? Or are we supposed to email that separately?

I called the Admissions Office, and a woman told me that you can convert it to a Word document and upload it electronically in one of the optional essay slots you don't use (Diversity or C&F, I think), but she also said that most people mail it later on to give it extra attention.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Got an email fee waiver today and submitted today! Submitted today. Would like Vandy, but 3.3/169 is not hopeful.

Have any of you guys successfully solicited a fee waiver from Vandy? Know when the last round of emails went out?
I'm 4.0/174 and was thinking about trying for one if I don't get an email tomorrow. Thanks for any advice!

I solicited one with much worse numbers than yours and they granted my request within a couple days. Go for it.EdgarWinter wrote:Have any of you guys successfully solicited a fee waiver from Vandy? Know when the last round of emails went out?

I tried to solicit with a 3.3/169 and they rejected me. Then they sent me an unsolicted waiver a couple days ago. Lawl.EdgarWinter wrote:Have any of you guys successfully solicited a fee waiver from Vandy? Know when the last round of emails went out?

Interesting. I also got a nice reject, but a few hours later got an unsolicited.

Just had my Vandy interview. It was AWESOME. My interviewer didn't spend too much time on me but gave me a good overview of what attracted them to Vandy and Nashville and how they stayed on in Nashville way after lawschool. Made me so excited for the school. Wouldn't even call it an interview really :p lovely conversation!

How does Vandy evaluate one's interview performance?

Your interviewer submits an evaluation about you once you're finished the interview.thelawschoolproject wrote:How does Vandy evaluate one's interview performance?

When you put the date of your interview in your application, does it process through them automatically?fingerscrossedxx wrote:Your interviewer submits an evaluation about you once you're finished the interview.thelawschoolproject wrote:How does Vandy evaluate one's interview performance?

Just submitted a few days ago!
Also, how important are interviews to Vandy? Is it like Northwestern where you pretty much have to interview to get in?
