Re: 2012 Lewis & Clark People
My ties are non-existant. Have spent a lot of time in Portland over the last 4 or 5 years and can definitely give a convincing answer as to why I want to live there, but no family in the area and have never lived there. We'll see how it goes...definitely not counting on anything, but gonna try my hardest to make it happen.
EDIT: really surprised to see that UW doesn't place better down there. I guess UW is less of a PNW power-house and more of just a Seattle feeder. Also surprised that Michigan is the most represented T14...I would have thought Boalt or Stanford for sure.

Has anyone heard back yet or do they usually take longer to start sending out decisions?

Just wondering where you ended up on this? Are these the final tallies?rinkrat19 wrote:I'm in the middle of going through all the Portland NALP firms and making a spreadsheet of where all the younger associates (graduating 2000 or later, approximately) went to law school.
About halfway through the list, the score is:
L&C - 38
Oregon - 26
Willamette - 13
UW - 9
Michigan - 6
everyone else <4
The vast majority graduated with honors or were on a journal, frequently both.
ETA: at first glance, this looks great for L&C/Oregon, but think about the numbers. In the last 11 years, fewer than 160 grads (assuming that halfway through the list of firms, I've counted half the grads) of the three Oregon law schools got NALP firm jobs--somewhere in the ballpark of ~15 a year. The problem isn't that local firms aren't willing to hire local grads, it's that there just aren't enough firms with enough jobs. As a result, the tip top students get those jobs.

Did everyone just get the "L&C Law School Invested In Your Future" email?
I was hoping it was a decision, but it was just a promotional email for their career services dept.

I just got that too! My application was just completed today so I got excited but then realized it wasn't actually anything.

You will get approximately 18,237 pieces of mail from L&C before you get a decision. I got THREE (3) viewbooks last year and countless booklets and pamphlets on different programs. I applied at the beginning of November with auto-admit numbers and didn't get a decision until mid-January.

No update for me yet. I went complete late October. For what it's worth, if you can log into the Admitted Students website, you're in!

Sorry, I should have been more clear: I applied last year, was admitted, and found out by accessing the admitted students website. Someone linked to it, above.dreamflower wrote:I don't understand??Campagnolo wrote:No update for me yet. I went complete late October. This cycle, I applied again, and my status checker has not updated yet. I mentioned this because others had an update today, but no love for me.

Ya this is killing me I keep looking at law school numbers and seeing people getting accepted to schools around the country but it seems like all the schools I have applied to (mostly PNW) are some of the latest in terms of decisions

Yeah I applied to 3 PNW schools but I've only heard from Denver and Pitt.

Re: 2012 Lewis & Clark People
My app complete date now says 11/28 (haven't checked it in a few), when originally it was complete 11/02. I guess that means they're closer to releasing decisions?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
