170, 3.9 = rejected at University of Toronto up north, in to at least 2 T14's so far with basically the same application materials.

I thought the subject of the forum said it all. Economy of words is underrated on this site.paulinaporizkova wrote:cool story brojplwine wrote:Hawaii

Oh, if we can expand this to Canadian schools, my 170/3.49 turns into a 170/3.85 if you use University of Victoria's usual way of canceling out bad grades. They rejected me. I love Canada, I want to be a Canadian...WHY U NO ADMIT, Canada?

UNC. Two years ago I was accepted by multiple T14's (including Duke), but was rejected by the University of North Carolina.

Re: You were considered a"Admit" by LSP but actually got denied
Ok, this might be a little skewed, because I applied to these schools as a 172/3.22, but I have since improved to a 176. I'm still including it though, because at least some of these schools left me at complete until the 176 came in.
Michigan = Admit/WL (ED)
GULC = Admit/DENY
UCLA = Admit/WL
Still waiting on Cornell (says I'm an admit), and if they don't let me in, this cycle will be a complete failure.

Berkeley and Chicago for me. Not even a WL at Boalt, which surprised me a lot. Will soon happen at Stanford as a (near) splitter, but I'm sure that's the case for most LSP Stanford Admits.

LSP had me as a strong consider at Loyola-Chicago; I was waitlisted.

I know you said you don't want WL, but I ED'd to UCLA and I was waitlisted. I was an admit on lsp. I'm so glad they did that because now I'm probably going to Harvard.

I ED'd before I found TLS and how important LS prestige was plus I looked at UCLA's Entertainment law rankings. Once again this was before TLS informed me specialty rankings are garbage. It was crazy in Dec when they waitlisted me I felt horrible and I thought I wasn't going to get into any law schools. A month later I was in at Berkeley and now I have 6 T14 acceptances.Kabuo wrote:This is awesome.unc0mm0n1 wrote:I know you said you don't want WL, but I ED'd to UCLA and I was waitlisted. Same thing's happened to others with similar/better numbers who're also gay.Cupidity wrote:Notre Dame, 3.9/166, got 1/2 scholarship to higher schools. I seriously think it's because I'm gay.

I was rejected from Albany.
2.4/164/URM/went to undergrad 3 miles away from the law school
Denied via status checker, and then they sent me a rejection letter...addressed to the wrong person. I had no intention of going, but I found it really funny.

Is there a reverse of this thread somewhere, where you were admitted to a LSP reject?
This thread is nothing but depressing (except for the people who are like screw you x school, I'm going to Harvard.)

+1. Just got waitlisted there and at Harvard yesterday (though I harbored no illusions about my chances at H) with a 176/3.6.duckmoney wrote:Michigan. Numbers weren't YP worthy, but I got a waitlist despite being an admit.
Also, held at Columbia, where LSP says "consider" but everything I read here and see on LSN seems to indicate that I should be in (or maybe that's just wishful thinking...). Oh, and waitlisted at UVA, which was also a supposed admit. Boooo.

LSP's been pretty on and off for me, probably because of high-end numbers but very average undergrad and softs.
School/LSP Category/Outcome
Yale/Admit/Likely Waitlist
Harvard/Admit/Held, Likely Waitlist
Stanford/Admit/Likely Waitlist
Columbia/Admit/In-Hamilton
Chicago/Admit/In-90k
Michigan/Admit/Held, Withdrew After Hamilton
Virginia/Admit/Hadn't heard back at all by February, withdrew after Hamilton

Would you happen to be one of those upset others?applepiecrust wrote:Same thing's happened to others with similar/better numbers who're also gay.Cupidity wrote:Notre Dame, 3.9/166, got 1/2 scholarship to higher schools. I seriously think it's because I'm gay.
I have zero trust in ND.
But then again what could be a better way to confirm ND's prejudices than confirming them with the gays that didnt get in and not polling any gays that did... I mean its a Catholic University, they must hate gays... I think even saw that on the LR on my test:
If you are catholic, then you hate gays. All adcomms at Notre Dame are Catholics. Furthermore, if you hate gays then you will never accept gays into anything.
If the statements above are true then which one of the following must also be true?
A: Some catholics love gays.
B: Some adcomms that are catholics are indifferent to gays.
C: If you are accepted to notre dame, you must not be gay!
D: Notre Dame could care less if you're gay.
E: Rejected people must justify why they are rejected for reasons that conform to their fears and dislike of the group they identify as rejecting them.
It took me awhile. At first, i thought it was E but then I wrote out the conditional reasoning (like you guys did) and, lo and behold, it was C. You guys must be right!

Holy Smokes! If you aren't an auto admit with those stats, it really shows YHS's preferences for working stiffs/ivy/public ivy undergrads. At least you can go Ham in NYC. (My little midwest lac undergrad is going to be tough to overcome now.) Has anyone else noticed Midwest kids often take a beating despite great stats? What's that all about?jdstl wrote:LSP's been pretty on and off for me, probably because of high-end numbers but very average undergrad and softs.
