This, x a million. I was waitlisted in February, and went to visit GW in March. Went on a tour, visited admissions office, and sat in on a class. I immediately wrote an LOCI that I put a lot of effort into. I made it clear I really wanted to go to GW, and would go unhesitatingly if admitted. That's how I feel, and today, my efforts paid off. As the others have said, showing interest goes a long way in getting off a waitlist. Good luck to all of those still waiting!smartblonde87 wrote:I got in today and also got the email below a day ago. DEFINITELY tell them if you are committed and visit. Definitely write a LOCI. Definitely meet with someone in admissions about the wait list. It's a big deal to them!!! PM me if you want more specifics!

Any movement today? I have similar stats to others that have gotten in (3.3 167), sent in LOCI, talked to admissions...come on GW!

So today's the day that the first wave of waitlist acceptances ends. Good luck to everyone!

No movement yet? Safe to assume our chances go down exponentially if we don't make it by the end of today?

Also a waiter. Not sure if I would have liked to have another d-day (like today was) listed in the email...on one hand, it was nice to be on the lookout for something. On the other hand, I was very unproductive today at work...

Wow, I can't believe I got in. 167 and 3.14. I wrote a GPA addendum, I think it helped.
The email specifically mentioned no merit aid is available, and the total cost for a year of attendance is nearly $70,000!!! Yikes.

I got in yesterday with a 168/3.11 -- sounds like they're reaching for LSATs right now.
I really doubt I'll go though because I'm getting $$ from WUSTL and have a pretty strong personal network in the DC area, so I am not particularly concerned about the regional drop-off. The $75K COA is fucking ridiculous. I don't understand how anyone goes to this school at sticker.

I mean it definitely is scary...especially when I was offered a full scholly to st. johns, where I live, and the COA would literally be under 5 grand a year if I lived at home.justhockey31 wrote:Just wondering...it sounded like the tuition might have been scaring ppl away
