My guess would be that there was a "maybe" decapitation above, but it's just a guess.IndyHCKM wrote:I assume you intended for this "be" to be a "but." So, it sounds like even if any of us did have the guts to call and get past the automated prompts, it wouldn't do any good.

Just to clarify: are you still "forgotten" (i.e., you've gone complete but have heard nothing else), or have you actually received a hold or reserve notification?IndyHCKM wrote:I e-mailed it to admissions@law.columbia.edu and attached it as a PDF.somewhere wrote:Did you email this? And if so, did you attach it as PDF or just paste it into the email? What email address?IndyHCKM wrote:Eh, I did it. We will see soon enough what they think of it I suppose. Along with this LOCI, I also provided a few updates to my resume from work I'm doing as a research assistant. The entire document was 1 page single spaced.lucylove wrote:what do you guys think about submitting a LOCI?? Does Columbia like that?
Thank you for your interest in Columbia Law School. We will add this update to your file.
Best wishes,

I was under the impression forgottens shouldn't send LOCIs because technically they are still in the first part of the review process, right?

I am still "forgotten." I did received a transcript request in January, and have mailed a few other things to them, but other than that, I have not received any official notification from Columbia about any change in my application or of any decision rendered.somewhere wrote: Just to clarify: are you still "forgotten" (i.e., you've gone complete but have heard nothing else), or have you actually received a hold or reserve notification?

They don't respond to your inquiry by email either, I know a couple people who tried.

Looks like we're going to have to personally show up at the admissions office en masse then...Non-Chalant1 wrote:They don't respond to your inquiry by email either, I know a couple people who tried.

Re: The Forgotten- Columbia 2011
I don't really know. I have sent a few out, but maybe I'm shooting myself in the foot. Who knows? My LOCI was paired with a few updates to my resume, so maybe that approach would work.Frankie55 wrote:I was under the impression forgottens shouldn't send LOCIs because technically they are still in the first part of the review process, right?
For what it's worth, I was just reading an article on US News about this. The link is:
http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/g ... -good-luck
Of note it states:
"2. If you have updated grades, jobs, honors, awards, or other information, do email schools and let them know. Send an updated transcript through LSAC as well."
But it also states:
"3. Do not send extra essays or letters just because you are waiting for an admission decision. Wait until you are waitlisted. The only exceptions are updates (as per #2, above) and thank-you notes after visits or interviews."
Maybe I avoided the taboo of the LOCI by pairing it with my resume update. Also, although I am unable to locate the article, I'm pretty sure I read a statement from Dean Deal at Stanford that LOCI were welcome, even if you hadn't heard anything yet. Obviously, this doesn't suggest much about Columbia, but if Stanford is ok with it, maybe Columbia would be too. But, again, who knows? I certainly don't.

CastleRock got in today, so hopefully the rest of us hear something soon too. My guess is that most of our decisions will come with the "wave" of late applicant decisions. They'll have the whole applicant pool this next week, so if they've been confused about us they should get over that soon. That's what I'm hoping for anyway!

Well, since one person actually received a 2/8 paper letter postmark, there is some hope for tomorrow/Mon/Tues, depending on where you are. (Would make sense, to coincide with the 2/7 holds)

Re: The Forgotten- Columbia 2011
Well I got a funny story for you all. I received the famed vomit colored envelope today in the mail, but get this: it was postmarked the 3rd of February!
It took that letter 11 days to get from New York to Utah where I'm going to school!
For the record, as compared to the 2013 entering class, my LSAT is at their median and my GPA is above their 75th percentile. I received a transcript request on the 11th of January.

Thanks you two. I'm pretty excited about it. Whatever work I had to do today is just going to have to wait until tomorrow.

Hahaha. I like that title. I imagine anybody that can justifiably claim that title will be admitted to Columbia. Best of luck to you all!mel2010 wrote: We need a new spreadsheet for the ELITE forgotten.

Kind of odd how little GPA actually figures into the CLS index. That spreadsheet has utter disregard for GPA ordering
which is why I didn't apply to Stanford eh
