Re: Waitlisted at Chicago 2011
Last time I tried to submit anything outside of their rules (tried to add to my application after it had gone complete) I got an email back that seemed displeased that I hadn't obeyed that rule. May have even played a slight role in the result that I was the only one with my numbers that ED'd Chicago and wasn't accepted this year. Keep in mind the deadline on the "LOCI" was Jan 31.

I had the same happen to me. I wonder if now that we're WLed they would react the same? I have legitimate things to update you on, Chicago.BeachedBrit wrote:Last time I tried to submit anything outside of their rules (tried to add to my application after it had gone complete) I got an email back that seemed displeased that I hadn't obeyed that rule. LOL @ all the 'I probably have the lowest stats'… 3.5/158 urm, guess they saw something they kinda liked. I'm writing the LOCI, but idk if it'll help anything...

Re: Waitlisted at Chicago 2011
I think he meant that his LOCI deadline was January 31st because he applied ED. The waitlist letter says submit all additional materials by March 15th. (Although maybe I'm confused about this conversation, because I don't think anyone got waitlisted until after January 31...)r6_philly wrote:Oh nevermind then!BeachedBrit wrote:Last time I tried to submit anything outside of their rules (tried to add to my application after it had gone complete) I got an email back that seemed displeased that I hadn't obeyed that rule. Admissions says additional LORs are okay and to submit through LSAC.

Yeah, my WL e-mail says "You may submit an additional essay to the Admissions Committee discussing the reasons why you are interested in studying law at Chicago and how our curriculum will help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Please limit your essay to two pages and submit your essay to admissions@law.uchicago.edu"r6_philly wrote:Well nevermind the nevermind then!RTFM wrote:I think he meant that his LOCI deadline was January 31st because he applied ED. 2-page LOCI? Dammmnnn
So yeah. Joining this thread as per Philly's advice.
I only applied to Chicago as a measuring stick with Columbia and NYU (two schools I'm REALLY interested in); it was a 12$ application. The measuring stick came up short, and therefore I expect it to do the same at the others.
Once Vanderbilt gives me a scholarship I'll be all good

173/3.8, will be withdrawing since I will most likely be acting all bohemian in the Village come August.

3.69/179, WLed today... Kinda surprised, but I got into Columbia a couple of weeks ago so I guess I may as well just withdraw... I just have to wait for rejections from Harvard and Stanford and then I can start pumping myself up for the Upper West Side.

Hi everyone. I'm a little sad to be here but honored to be among such great company. I am definitely riding out this waitlist and will be sending in an LOCI very soon. They put me UR 4 times (last time being today...) maybe 5th time will be the charm?

Anyone know if the two-page limit on the Why Chicago? essay is single spaced or double spaced? I'm assuming double-spaced, but I'd like to confirm since it needs to be in by Tuesday.

Re: Waitlisted at Chicago 2011
I just double-checked my e-mail and it definitely says March 15th. Maybe its because you got waitlisted later than I did (I was with the first batch)? March 15th does seem a little early to want an essay from waitlist candidates that they clearly aren't going to look at until April or May...eecs wrote:My e-mail says the deadline is April 15th not March 15th.RTFM wrote:Anyone know if the two-page limit on the Why Chicago? essay is single spaced or double spaced? Philly, how long did it take your transcript to be updated? (I sent mine in in mid-February and LSAC confirmed its receipt, but no new report has been sent out yet.)

Mine was due March 1, i was in the first batch of decisions. They probably just gave each applicant 2 months or so from when they sent out their decisionRTFM wrote:I just double-checked my e-mail and it definitely says March 15th. When do you guys think we'll hear back? My guess is after first seat deposits are due, so... mid/late April would be the earliest possible.

I wish I could go back in time and ED to Chicago.
I updated my transcript and it stayed exactly the same. Maybe they'll like my consistency?
