GW only gives money if your numbers are really high and they really want you. Otherwise you have to be URM.

Seriously? Aren't North African and Middle Eastern people "minorities"? So, why are they not considered URM? (Why are they even listed as white?)

Minorities yes. Under Represented? No. Kind of like how you can be a hispanic but not underrepresented (e.g. Spanish). My white jewish friend from Larchmont, NY was a national hispanic scholar. Personally I think that's kind of messed up, but hey, who am I to judge?

That's definitely not a guarantee. I'm URM and I'm not getting anything. I'm not saying that I should've got any money, just that they still have to want you enough.

Sorry I didn't mean all URM get money. I mean't to say that you have a better chance if you're URM to get money.

I got in via email a week ago and I still haven't gotten my acceptance packet... (I'm on the west coast.) Now I've started to freak out and think that the email was a mistake or something....

I live within 50 miles of DC and today marks a week since I got my e-mail.

I called the admissions office today and the woman said they were put in the mail on Tuesday (even though the email said "tomorrow [Friday]" So I'm hoping to get it tomorrow

Got mine later in the day yesterday . No $, but that was expected. Personal handwritten note from the dean, though. That was pretty nice.

Unless the dean had their secretary do a handwriting imitation.

Mine didn't say anything about passion and zeal, but it did say they were "looking forward to having my unique perspective" in their class and that my achievements were impressive.

Hmmm I can't get into the admitted students site even though I got the e-mail saying I'd been admitted. Has this happened to anyone else?? I tried to my LSAC # with and without the L at the front, nothing works.

I really need to get my packet aggghhh its been only four days though and I'm on the west coast.

Last I checked the site also didn't work for me and I also haven't received the packet (admitted via email last Thursday). I'm in the Midwest so I'm hoping it's here tomorrow. I'm getting impatient.

Just got my admissions packet. The handwritten note was nice. No money, though, which is a bit surprising seeing as how I'm at median (I think) for gpa and above 75th for LSAT. I feel like a bit of a jerk, but there's no way I will even consider GW at sticker, especially after being accepted to GULC. Disappointing because it would have been a major contender if they were offering $.

I'm at median LSAT and way above 75th GPA. I'm now afraid that there will be nothing offered in the envelope, which would be very discouraging. If I get into a t-14, why shouldn't I take it at sticker over GW at sticker? $200k+ for a school that takes a backseat to Georgetown is hard to sell.

Meh, different connotations, I think.

EDIT: To elaborate, passion seems to describe a state of inwardness, but zeal, I think, is measured by the fervor of external activity.

Got my packet today. No $, which is no surprise, considering I was a marginal PT admit. The packet itself is very snazzy. All other schools have sent me is a one page letter - I'm considering carrying the GWU acceptance packet around and pulling it out at opportune moments to try and convince people that I'm classy.

It sits there and whispers to me "Sticker price is a good investment... it's fine, it's all fine... "

Got my packet today too. Hard to believe looking at LSN that $$ is out already, since there doesn't seem to be any awards out yet below 100k. After getting into Georgetown, there's no way I'd pay sticker at GW.
