I called the office today and they said that are adding people to the system this afternoon. Perhaps that will fix the problem.

I was wondering how long it took for the lsac to send reports after paying online. Also, how long was it before you received confirmation and your online login from wvu. I applied on the 7th or 8th online, and i haven't heard anything from them. I am in state, wvu undergrad student... 158 and 3.2... what are my chances?

your numbers are actually towards the high side for WVU. Definite Acceptance.WVUguy11 wrote:I was wondering how long it took for the lsac to send reports after paying online. If I was OOS I would definitely make WVU give me some sort of $$$ before I would attend. WVU grads are getting killed in terms of job prospects. (WVU grads that are not in the top 10/15%) If you get 10/15% you should be good.

Re: West Virginia 2011
That is what I have heard, but it contradicts employment numbers on lsac. I suppose the employment issues have really only become relevant in the lat year or so. I do know that you only go to wvu if your looking to practice in WV. Not a bad market if your interested in energy law with naural gas and coal being so influential in state. I assume those who get jobs with firms that deal with energy companies like jackson/kelly and steptoe/johnson are in that top 10/15 percent.

Just got a scholarship offer from WVu in the postal mail today. 10k year for 3 years, as long as i email them to accept the offer within 15 days ( or they will give it to someone else, ), matriculate to the school, and maintain a 3.0 gpa

15 days? That seems a bit sketchy to say the least. is it 10K spread over 3 years or 10K every year?

Good job on getting the scholarship! I saw in the thread you are a NY resident so what did they do regarding residency? Two schools that I have acceptances to waived non-resident tuition so maybe WVU could do something.northwood wrote:Just got a scholarship offer from WVu in the postal mail today. 10k year for 3 years, as long as i email them to accept the offer within 15 days ( or they will give it to someone else, ), matriculate to the school, and maintain a 3.0 gpa

Re: West Virginia 2011
its 10K every year for 3 years,( 30k total) granted that I maintain a 3.0 gpa. They didnt say anything about becoming an in state resident ( which would make the offer even better!)
I understand what they are doing with the 15 day notice. Its enough time to make up your mind if you have heard back from most of your schools. Its not enough time if you havent. But they want to make sure that people who are going to go to their school can get some financial assistance from them. I dont mind the theory behind it, but it still stinks as i have yet to hear from a majority of schools. I will contact them on Monday to see what they say,and use the weekend to think it through.
WVU is right in my top 8, but I have only heard from 3 out of those schools. I dont want to string them along but I also dont want to close the door to them. At least I have some time to do some thinking and soul searching and come up with a list and scenarios for schools to go up or down on it.

Thanks for the info northwood. Reading through the thread I saw that you have a 3.53/158 so with an identical GPA and a 160 LSAT I expect maybe a little more - although they just got all of my letters and stuff on Jan. 7th That 15 days thing is kind of rough too.

I received an offer as well, had the same fifteen day response requirement. I don't know about them waiving residency, but in general WV is harder to establish residency than a state like VA. I know a lot of fellow undergrads from out-of-state, and none of them have managed to establish residency while here. Congrats on the award.

I will be withdrawing as well. There should be an acceptance and some money on the table for another applicant. Best of Luck.
