I'm in-state. Thus far, I have been accepted at NKU and placed on hold at UK. An acceptance into UofL would be an exonerating experience.

I have seen you on LSN as well... getting even waitlisted at UK speaks volumes to your file in my opinion. Must be something people are liking in there. As in an stater with low numbers, I am dreaming for UL (where I'm from) and hoping for NKU...

How low of numbers are we talking?

Planning on the JAG I see? That's awesome.

Nothing to boast about. However, I do have some soft factors. I worked full-time all throughout undergraduate school, legislative internship, poor family, significant upward grade-trend, and three recommendations from professors who have taught me throughout undergrad.

I'm in the same boat. Hoping my softs (some ROTC, Bio/Pol Sci double major, work all through UG, VP of my Rugby club and LOR's) count for something. I'd love for Louisville to give me a shot, but I'm not sure I can overcome my botched LSAT. Wouldn't mind retaking and waiting a year, though as I was already dinged at Mercer. Would also love to find myself in JAG some day too. We'll see. Good luck!

Pretty shoddy for UL... I am a scholarship cadet though under the control of the JAG branch already... I'm hoping that awards and military background may give me a shot. Or at least a waitlist where I can still attempt to get a shot.

Rejected not long after this post... oh well. Maybe a transfer will work one day. The LSAT didn't work out for me but it won't stop me.

Yeah, not looking to good for me, seeing the rejections coming up on LSN. Even rejected an Iraq vet..granted he had 2.8/153..but had serious softs and LOR's from his dean and commander. Ouch. Looks like UL is looking to be on the move in the rankings....

Ouch. Sorry to hear all of that ya'll. I'm still waiting for mine to even go into review right now.

I'm surprised that Louisville rejected military personnel. From what I understood, the school highly regarded military service, especially JAG connections. I'm former National Guard myself.

Me too, was really hoping my time in ROTC (included a summer leadership course at Knox) would help me out, but not getting my hopes up now. Just going to need to get that LSAT up I suppose.

I have not heard anything, but I only went under review on the 01/19... so who knows.

Either they haven't gotten around to it yet, or it will be a waitlist via snail mail.

I'm serioUsly surprised to see a rejection for IS with that GPA. I would have expected at least a WL. Any idea why?

I really hope it was at least some other factor in conjunction or it seems a little arrogant of UL to reject an IS with a GPA above their median and an LSAT not that far off. Like they're trying to make too big of a jump in one year.

Median LSAT was a 157 25% LSAT was a 154 for the FT program for Fall of 2010 class. I wouldn't call a 153
not that far off from the median LSAT for UL

Yeah, I figured it had to be the LSAT, but still, a 153 isn't leaps below their 25th percentile, and not to mention that they admit people with scores in the 140's.

Random question. Do state schools have to devote a certain percentage of their scholarship funds to IS residents?

Yeah you got to be careful with the TLS numbers they give they can be deceivingly old sometimes

-My PS was decent
-I had an upward grade trend
-Worked throughout UG at local law firm as well as a cameraman/editor for a company who makes high school recruiting videos
-3 good LORs (One from UL Alum)
-I even wrote a Why UL Essay!

At the end of the day I think the LSAT busted my balls, its hard to fathom the possibility that if I got 3-4 more questions right on the LSAT I would not have been denied. Oh well.

I dont think so. IF you want, call them in the spring and go over your application with them. I did it last year at another school, and the admissions people will give you heartfelt, genuwine advice. They told me what I needed to hear, that my lsat was a few points lower, that my personal statement wasnt up to par. Ended up talking to the person for a half hour. THe school I called wasnt UL, but I know the advice I got helped my application cycle greatly

Nope, it was disclosed in the Decision Letter.

"It is with regret that I must inform you we were unable to offer you admission to the Fall 2011 Entering Class of the University of Louisville's School of Law. Because of the extremely detailed review of applicant files by our Admissions Committee, all decisions are final and not subject to appeal."

Might I add that Saint Louis, a school ranked even with UL, W/L me. I really would like to ask someone lol. Guess all I have is the speculation of fellow TLSers.

Sorry to hear it. Still just baffled by the flat out rejection to be honest. If you look at the ABA grid on LSAC, they admit people with similair gpas and even lower LSAT's.
