Re: Penn 2011
Got a big envelope from UPenn yesterday, and I got really excited. It was just a viewbook with a fee waiver.

Bump - here's to hoping that now that the ED deadline is over, they'll start looking at some RDs soon.

You can always dig through last year's thread and see when they start reviewing. Has to be soon since the first wave of acceptances are usually out in Dec. I will probably do that when I have some time.

Re: Penn 2011
I was near the very beginning of the acceptances last year in mid December. My LSN shows the exact date. But I was accepted along with many of the ED candidates, so it all may come earlier than expected.

First wave of ED acceptances came on Dec. 9 and continued through that week. But, the fall LSAT was considerably earlier last year as was the general academic calendar. I would be surprised if anyone heard before the 15th.r6_philly wrote:You can always dig through last year's thread and see when they start reviewing. Yo yo yo just here to join what I presume is the Penn ED waiting room!
Best of luck to ya'll. My chances are slightly better than winning the lottery I believe.

There is a ED thread. This is mostly RD I believe. But welcome nonetheless!chip3341 wrote:Yo yo yo just here to join what I presume is the Penn ED waiting room!

Finally submitted today after agonizing longer than necessary about the supplemental essays. I'm really excited about the JD/MBE program and starting to regret not applying ED. Here's to hoping they look favorably on splitters this year...

Same here. I agonized over the optional ones too - until I didn't. Honestly, I couldn't figure out how to write about diversity or lit/art without sounding completely trite. Oh well. Here's hoping they love my 5 year plan.

Re: Penn 2011
Sending in my app tomorrow (Monday) or the next day. Here's to hoping.
I don't know how much of a chance I have, given my GPA/LSAT scores, but they gave me a waiver, so...what the hell?
The funny thing is, now that my apps are pretty much all done, I feel oddly depressed. Like some part of me is missing.
Oh, well. Glad they're done, anyway.

Thanks again! It looks like during the second week of December this thread should get a little more exciting!dulcatis wrote:Here's the spreadsheet I made for Penn:r6_philly wrote:So when did RD applicants start getting decisions?amkid100 wrote:First wave of ED acceptances came on Dec. 9 and continued through that week. But, thanks to those new excel sheets out there, it looks like the wait won't be THAT much longer: for those of us who applied in Oct, it looks like we can expect to hear back in 3-4 weeks at the maximum. I can live it that (eh, i guess).

Re: Penn 2011
so 3 weeks from now, it's a date!
It would help to go UCR first I must admit.

Any RDs under review yet? If not I hope that doesn't bode ill for mid-december decisions...

They were kind of quick last year when it comes to review. I think we will see some RD UCR by next Friday. I would be thrilled to hear back before xmas!hellojd wrote:last year RD people who applied in Oct started getting decisions second week of december. for that to happen, i'm assuming some of us are going to go under review this week...

Hey everybody! I just joined, but I've been lurking for a while. I went on Penn's thread from last year, and it looks like they all had date changes once they went UCR (similar to Georgetown's). People also went UCR by mid November last year. It looks like things are going slower.

Re: Penn 2011
May I suggest that perhaps "things" aren't going more slowly this year, but that Penn's updating is just going more slowly? I'm RD but I've been complete for 2 months now, with no UCR. It's possible that we'll see the first wave very quickly after the first UCR batch, depending upon when in the process they decide to update their status check systems. Maybe we can still hope for a first wave in 2 weeks or so?

Anyone know if they review by order of completion or by some sort of index system?
