Agreed with Scottie88! I sadly have to wait until 5:30 to check my mail! I'm in Iowa, applied and complete 11/2. I'm assuming my letter went out with the batch, but I could be wrong!

Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
That does help! Im thinking those who went complete after the October LSAT scores were posted are receiving their decisions now. Wisconsin residents appear to have gotten theirs Saturday which means us out of state candidates should receive something today or tomorrow. (hopefully!!)

I submitted my application a week ago and got an acceptance letter today! I'm out of state (Ohio). Definitely tuning in to watch Marquette play Duke in college hoops tonight!
For others who have been accepted, any word on when we'll get financial aid information?
For the rest of you applying...good luck, I wish you nothing but the best! This was my first acceptance letter and the feeling is wonderful, I hope you get to experience it.

This was my first acceptance too. I even did a Tiger Woods fist pump when I got the acceptance package.Underground404 wrote:I submitted my application a week ago and got an acceptance letter today! I'm out of state (Ohio). Definitely tuning in to watch Marquette play Duke in college hoops tonight!

For financial aid info, I don't remember when exactly but I want to say January. Don't quote me on that though.

In today via small white envelope dated 11/19! I'm living Southern California at the moment, so I would assume most people from the 11/19 batch will hear back very soon. Pretty excited about the school, but a little worried about the Milwaukee weather. Never really had a harsh winter, so if there's anybody out there who can attest that would be much appreciated

I've lived in Milwaukee for a couple years... the lake effect makes winters pretty bad, there isn't any sugar coating it. From what I remember, there was always a whole lot of snow. I've lived in Florida for the past couple years transitioning back to that sort of environment would be tough but it might be worth it in the long run... who knows.

What are job prospects like for Marquette Law grads? I've glanced at some stats to get a better idea, but I was wondering if anyone in the area (or anyone else for that matter) had an idea of how Marquette grads are doing in the current economy. What type of pull do they have in Milwaukee or down in Chicago? Lastly, is there a strong alumni network that is helping with job placement? Thanks!

Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
I am wondering the same thing as an accepted applicant. I do know a couple of folks who recently graduated from UW-Madison (Wisconsin's higher ranked school) who haven't yet found employment, but I haven't heard anything regarding Marquette.Underground404 wrote:What are job prospects like for Marquette Law grads? Hey, don't despair. This is a time of uncertainty for all of us and I completely understand your concern. It's easy to get caught up in everything that's going on around you, but if you stay grounded and confident in what you're capable of doing, everything will work out.brupe wrote:No letter today, and I'm in Iowa

I'm from Southern California, and I went to school (undergraduate) in Ohio. It's gonna suck for a bit, not gonna lie, but ultimately you get used to it. Pretty much you just stay indoors as much as possible. The snow's really pretty, you'll adapt. Good luck!BurgerSalad wrote:In today via small white envelope dated 11/19! Wisconsin weather can be really bi polar. It can be freezing one day and warm the next. For instance yesterday it was in the 60s and there was a tornado, but today the wind chills are in the teens.
But its really not that bad, but I've lived here my whole life.

If they're anything like Iowa winters (and I'm guessing they are) if I get in, it's going to be a LONG three years lol

Re: Marquette 2011 Applicants
Got my letter yesterday. It was a really fast turn around for me. I submitted and got the letter a week and a half later. I figured I was in here based on my numbers but it is still nice having the official notice. Now I wait for UWisc-Madison. That one I am not so sure about but given the lower tuition rate I'm really hoping for it!
