165/ 3.85, so in some ways a reverse splitter. Complete since mid-late October. No word yet.

Good to know. You're a 166/3.0? I'm a 167/2.9. I should be okay, as long as they don't have a hard-nosed 3.0 GPA floor. Plus I applied PT.JakeL wrote:I am a regular splitter, and I've been admitted.

Their LSAT median is 164 I believe, so you're just overqualifed at GMU. At some higher-ranked places you're a reverse splitter, like GWU.renaissanceman83 wrote:165/ 3.85, so in some ways a reverse splitter. Complete since mid-late October. No word yet.

I think that is their 75% for LSAT, I thought their median was around 162.androstan wrote:Their LSAT median is 164 I believe, so you're just overqualifed at GMU. Very close to that:YankeesFan wrote:I think that is their 75% for LSAT, I thought their median was around 162.androstan wrote:Their LSAT median is 164 I believe, so you're just overqualifed at GMU. 75th LSAT: 165
Median LSAT: 163
25th LSAT: 159
75th GPA: 3.78
Median GPA: 3.57
25th GPA: 3.06

I’m at 75th for LSAT and between 25th and Median for GPA. My fingers will be crossed for the next couple of weeks.

Indeed, and that +1 LSAT point is significant.3|ink wrote:The difference between 2009 and 2010.

On a side note: I hate December when work is slow...it is making me obsessively check TLS.

I sent it on 11/10. I got an email on 11/15 with the status checker ID etc. Mason was my top choice so I applied ED.

Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
If I get into GMU, I'm going to have a tough decision to make. I'm not too crazy about their so called "conservative" tilt and the heavy economics focus they place in their curriculum. Sure, its 100x cheaper than AU WCL, but I'd have to really think about it.
This is all a moot point since Im under their 25th for GPA and at median for LSAT. Plus, my status checker hasnt changed since 11/3.

I am an economics major, although I am not sure if this gives me any kind of advantage a mason. The main issue for me is that I am a VA resident and I want to stay in the DC area. Seemed like a no brainer to me.

I really don't know the answer to this, but...How much conservative could it really be? It's a public law school that is basically in D.C. Of course conservative and liberal are completely relative terms, but this is a recipe for liberalism if you ask me.gdane5 wrote:If I get into GMU, I'm going to have a tough decision to make. Anyway...Even if it does live up to the conservative reputation, how much of an impact could that have on your experience? I actually applied there based largely on that conservative reputation, but ultimately I doubt it's that much of a factor.

I know a number of GMU law alum and from what I've heard, the school is conservative but it's not like you're going to feel ostracized if you're not on the right. GMU has a rep as a school that's not exactly collegial and as a school that has serious students so the social scene will most likely be lacking. On the other hand, if you're looking for social life, Arlington is known as one of the best places for young adults to live and DC is DC.

GMU is attractive because of its cost and proximity to DC. I dont care about rankings because outside of the top 14, they mean nothing.ran12 wrote:I know a number of GMU law alum and from what I've heard, the school is conservative but it's not like you're going to feel ostracized if you're not on the right. Ive also heard that GMU is a commuter school and thus theres a lack of student bond. Eh, whatever. We'll see what happens.

If it comes down to GMU and AU, do yourself a favor and take whichever one is cheapest (which will probably be GMU).gdane5 wrote:GMU is attractive because of its cost and proximity to DC.
